Reading the Blade Runner thread I found out the film is crammed on a single layer disc and I had no idea. I have also been holding out on getting Goodfellas for that very same reason, hoping it will eventually see a re-release one day with a higher birate.

So I thought it could be handy to list other major releases that are crammed on such discs. Any others come to mind?

Only discs 1, 3 and 5 are single layer discs, 2 & 4 are dual-layer. (I think Warner was using VC-1 on the discs...)

Just because a disc is on a single layer doesn't mean it will be a problem. (Considering we seen up to 5 hours of TV programing fit on a dual layer disc...)

Yes, ideally all films would be dual layer, but depending on how efficient the compression is, a two hour film will have no problem fitting on a single layer disc.

Blade Runner came out almost 5 years ago.

Nearly every Warner title ever made. Even if the discs are dual-layered discs, Warner doesn't even utilize the space made available. In fact, most of their films are encoded at under 25GB.

Discs 2 & 4 are DVDs.
