Friedkin's comment
is curious and I don't really know how to interpret it.
Does this mean they DNR'ed it to get rid of the grain or does it mean they color timed the new print to reflect the more naturalistic 70's patina most films had then?
If it's the latter, that's a huge positive to me.
thankfully Warner Bros. is staying clear of DN'ring it's newer transfers

Cinemark is showing the film in DLP on June 6th / 2pm and 7pm

Cinemark Classic Series

I can't wait for that!

One of the Cinemark Theaters that some of my friends work at are showing it. Only about a 5-10 minute drive from where I live.

fuck. I forgot about this. *sigh* Someone needs to bitch slap Friedkin into just shutting the fuck up and just remastering the film w/ no alterations. Find the best source you have, clean it, transfer, etc..boom. Done. Yes, it's a lot more detailed than that but...goddamn is this man annoying w/ his shit. Unless that Warner logo is back...shut the fuck up, Friedkin.

It looks like the 2010 release is now OOP.

The Blu-Ray Digibook? Glad I got it when I did.

Also for the last year or more, there was a Director's Cut only Keepcase version out wasn't there?

I'll stick with the Digibook version too. The blu ray transfer is clean enough for me.

But more importantly, I got mine signed by the lead makeup artist, Dick Smith, who made adorable Linda Blair look like the terrifying, nightmare-inducing demon we've all come to love:

I wouldn't mind a Dick Smith-autographed copy myself. Very nice!

Anyway, I have the digibook and I am quite happy with it. They'll have to up the ante in a big way for me to have any interest in buying this again.

I ordered the UK edition which has both versions and features on 2 discs. I got it for under $19 shipped through Amazon UK.

Warner's insistence on removing the original logos from older films and replacing it with their current one is really disappointing and I want them to stop doing this as well. Sure, if they want to throw their new logo on the disc before the feature (ala Universal), then have at it, but don't take the old logos off the film. That's part of film history, damn it.
