Sister Act 20th Anniversary/Sister Act 2 - June 19th

This popped up in my gold box today:

http://www.amazon.com/Sister-Act-Ann...7267405&sr=8-3

One of my childhood favorites (the first one), coupled with the fact that my old DVDs aren't optimized for 16X9, means I'll probably have to pick this up. Here's hoping they don't screw the transfers up.

The Amazon listing says it'll be 3 discs. Hopefully it's 2 BD and one DVD, but I have a feeling it'll be the opposite. I hate when they cram 2 movies on the same disc.

I'm sure it will be 1 BD and 2 DVDs. That's how Father of the Bride was and it's being released by the same company. I'm interested in seeing if there are any special features, since they're calling it a "20th Anniversary Edition".

And by the way, I'm happy to see it's actually accurate that it is the 20th anniversary. Unlike Father of the Bride which it's actually been 21 years and Ransom which is coming out in a 15th anniversary even though that was also 2011.

All of the Disney 2-packs are seemingly 3-disc (1 BR/2 DVD) and they are doing a great job of including all the *existing* special features - but I doubt they will be producing anything new. At least they didn't with "Father of the Bride" and "The Princess Diaries" - both of which were more successful in the box office than "Sister Act".

But, honestly I'm loving these Touchstone/Hollywood releases and the quality is definitely "good enough"; especially since I never bought many of these titles because they were anamorphic on DVD.

Has Sister Act had special features in the past? I really can't stand it when companies call them "anniversary editions" and include no special features.

I'm not a fan of the 'two movies on one disc' approach (regardless of the format), and someone said the DVD's were the same old non-anamorphic discs. In case any blu ray fan-boys should ask why we care about the DVDs, I have a portable DVD player and none of my friends have a blu ray player...(although I am waiting for an affordable multiregion blu ray portable)

I received my copy today. Sister Act has the same featurette and only one of the two music videos that were on the DVD, and the sequel is barebones. The DVDs are indeed the same discs as before, and they are piled up on the same side of the case.

I'm currently watching Sister Act, while I'm no reviewer or anything, it looks pretty damn good.
