Star Wars hasn't been broken up yet either with individual releases. I doubt they're in a rush to do the same with the IJ movies. I'm not sure, but how long was it before the Alien movies had individual releases?

Re: Indiana Jones Collection -- Fall 2012

Took advantage of the Amazon DofD and Target price match with $10 off coupon for a grand total of $31.79 inc tax. Not bad. My next step was to dump the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 2 Disc version I already own until I noticed not all the extras ported over to the movie set. I might just thrown in the movie as a Christmas stocking stuffer and keep the bonus disk. I hate keeping duplicates of the same movie for no reason.

They broke up The Godfather fairly quickly. I can wait.

Did they ever release Godfather 3 on it's own?

16 months isn't "fairly quickly" in my book.

[Sep 23 2008 Trilogy; Feb 2 2010 Individual releases - according to Amazon]

It is for me.

Also, won't this be a future Warner release now?

Paramount kept the crown jewels of the catalog out of the Warner deal, which might include the Godfather (and definitely includes Indiana Jones, if that's what you were talking about).

And Transformers and Titanic and Star Trek. They're keeping DVD/BD rights to about 100 titles.

Interesting. Would be curious to see exactly what they kept....and especially stuff that hasn't been released yet on Blu-ray.

I would think they kept the Mission: Impossible titles because at least one more sequel is on the way.

Just finished a mini-marathon of sorts watching the 4 films over the last day and a half. They look great.

I don't own the BD to verify, but this is what's mentioned in the DVD Talk review of the box set:

...a number of supplements from the Crystal Skull Blu-Ray have not been ported over, including a 90-minute production diary.

Paramount will still handle distribution of the Jack Ryan, Indiana Jones, Godfather, and Transformers franchises. Paramount also still has distribution for the Steven Spielberg directed films done at Paramount and Dreamworks.

A few other dozen films will be handled by Olive while an unknown number get the Criterion treatment. Warner has distribution only rights for three years for "over 600 Paramount/Dreamworks titles." Paramount still owns these films and when the deals end, Paramount can choose to renew tje deal or handle distribution themselves again.

And???

You could either return the set you bought and wait to buy the ones you actually want.

or

Keep the set

The set is a better value since you get the documentaries for the first three films and some of the extras from the past DVD releases. The individual releases are trailers only for the first three and a repressing of the two-disc set for the fourth.

I finally opened mine last week and showed Raiders to my 9 year old daughter for the first time. She was less than enthused going in. My sales pitch was that it was from the same guy that did Jurassic Park & ET and helped with Goonies. She loves all three, so that helped a little.

After it was over I got an apologetic, "you were right, that was pretty awesome."

Re: Indiana Jones Collection -- Fall 2012

I prolonged picking it up when I missed that Target pricematch to Amazon/$10 coupon deal last year.

I ended up finding one of the Target exclusive sets last month when I was out of town and was able to pricematch Amazon to a then price of $38. I opened it up but I still haven't watched them yet. I wish they would've included digital copies with them last year. Oh well.

Even though all that shit that Indy does makes no apparent difference in the outcome?

How good is the picture quality on Raiders and Temple of Doom in this set?
