James Bond HD quality
After seeing a few of the old Bond films in HD on DirecTV I am floored by how good they look. Now I want to buy and own all the old Bond films on BR.
Can anyone confirm that the BR's look just like the DTV quality? I know sometimes on satellite & cable some films look better or worse than the actual BR. Also, the "black bars" were very, very small or non existance on the satellite, is this also true with the BR. Thanks for your time. |
Re: James Bond HD quality
Considering how compressed DTV's signal is, they likely look much better.

Keep in mind that only the early Connery films are in 1.67:1 aspect ratio (very small bars on either side of the image) whereas most of the films in the series are in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio (moderate sized bars on the top and bottom of the image). |

Cool, thanks So no "side bars" on the Bond films? |
Re: James Bond HD quality
Anyone think it is worth waiting for the big 2012 Bond 50th Ann. celebration?
I mean the BR's are almost all <$10 at Amazon now and that if pretty cheap. |

The Sony channel on DTV showed Moonraker and Thunderball cropped from 2.35 to 16:9....I pressed delete and said "Goodbye Mr. Bond" |
