I would rather have MSTK3000 release a blu ray version of when they ripped on this movie. That is there best episode.

Somewhat off-topic, but another worthwhile Kickstarter project, for Trailers from Hell, with autographed items galore!

I bought their first two DVDs at last year's SDCC. The trailers/commentaries were okay. As an extra, the second volume included the 1960 Little Shop of Horrors in anamorphic widescreen (!!).

I was in a Manos mood tonight and just watched the bonus features on the special edition MST3K DVD that I just got (Amazon had it on sale, so why not double dip?). I got to thinking about the soundtrack and did a search.

Turns out that the people doing the restoration have put up the soundtrack as a pay what you want download, sourced from their work. So, if you want your own copy of "Torgo's Theme", here you go:

Apparently, this restoration has become the subject of a copyright dispute with the director's son. Link is to Playboy, although there's nothing NSFW on the page.
http://www.playboy.com/articles/the-...rst-movie-ever
To the understanding of [restorer] Solovey and most everyone else involved, Manos had suffered the same fate as 1968’s Night of the Living Dead: A copyright symbol had been left off the film, which in the 1960s meant it automatically entered the public domain....

...In 2013, [Joe Warren] discovered among his father’s belongings a notice of copyright for the screenplay. A friend dug through the Library of Congress records and confirmed it was more than just a submission—the script had been logged, which Warren interprets to mean the movie itself is protected.

No one, however, knows for sure, as no precedent exists and no one seems willing to spend the money to have a court figure it out. “No copyright filed for theatrical release and no copyright notice on the film from that period is a fatal, defective thing,” says Ian Friedman, Solovey’s attorney. “But in the end, it’s not whether you’re right or wrong. It’s whether you want to litigate it.”
Edit: the article makes the mistake of claiming the original negative was found, while the restoration was all done from a relatively decently preserved print of the film.

The Blu-ray is up for sale on Amazon, due out Oct 23:

From the article I learned that the Rifftrax Live DVD has 30 minutes of outtakes from the film, "unearthed from the Harold P. Warren Trust vaults."
