The Amazon UK listing includes the same titles, and I think special features, from the original DVD box. Saboteur and Shadow Of A Doubt are both there.

The Amazon listing for the German version of the set also has the same titles, though - and that seems to contradict what's in the picture on that listing (North by Northwest is definitely part of the set in the picture, but isn't included in the product description). So what we need is an official announcement from Universal.

I'm not up to date with things like that, but I really hope they do add those films.

And yeah, I'm fond of Saboteur also.

This sounds promising, let's hope Amazon are right, although the NbN thing is kind of strange.

I think North By Northwest might only be for the German release.

The UK pre-order is up on Amazon UK, and the description lists all 14 films from the DVD set. Also:

a collectible 15 page hardback book, art cards, costume sketches, correspondence, photographs and more.

That leaked Universal list gave a 9/4 US release date for the Hitchcock box, and it hasn't been wrong yet, so I wouldn't worry about having to import the UK set.

Note: a poster on Blu-ray.com pointed out that, although the list has been completely accurate in terms of confirmed releases, they've been incorrect about a few of the release dates, so although 9/4 isn't carved in stone, a US release roughly around the same period will be. In any case, September 2012 will likely be the most expensive month ever in terms of potential new Blu-ray purchases!

Classic Flix lists a 9/25 release date, with North by Northwest included.

It's also $80 more than importing the UK set. Hopefully Amazon offers a better discount.

I agree, that $300 list-price is ridiculous. I'll wait until the set drops to $150 or so.

I'd love to interpret that as, "This will be around briefly and then we'll do individual releases in standard packaging", but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I like Topaz. Actually every movie except for Family Plot.

Looks like most of the DVD extras are on each disc. North by Northwest is included.

The Birds does have a BD exclusive featurette: "The Birds: Hitchcock's Monster Movie"

Is each letter of the box text taken from a different Hitchcock title? If so, that's pretty clever, though I'm ambivalent about the overall look.

Hey, at least it's not that crappy book packaging that they're getting in the UK. You know they type of packaging that doesn't actually fit anywhere?

Since there's 15 letters and 15 movies, I would assume so. That just increased my appreciation for that cover tenfold.

A - North By Northwest (for the plane)
L - Family Plot
F - Frenzy
R - Rear Window
D - The Birds
H
I - Torn Curtain (?)
T - Topaz (?)
C - Psycho
H - The Trouble With Harry
C
O - Vertigo
C
K

The rest (Saboteur, Shadow Of A Doubt, Rope and Marnie) didn't really fit any of the remaining fonts.

I'm assuming it'll come in similar packaging to the Kubrick set everyone hates?

The Universal press release here also used the word limited - I wonder how limited that is?
