The Birds on Blu-ray would be awesome. I got to see a very nice 35mm print last year at TCM's special screening in St. Louis and it looked pristine.

Definitely look forward to announcements of Shadow of a Doubt and Rope. Would also certainly not turn down good blu-rays of Vertigo and Rear Window. However, I personally feel a lot of the others, The Birds included, are a bit overrated and a little dull IMHO.
Also, I hope Warner Bros. puts Strangers on a Train on blu-ray this year.
Since they were also mentioned, does anybody else feel that, while some of the Universal monster sequels are fun in their own campy ways, Bride of Frankenstein is the only sequel that really "needs" an HD/blu-ray transfer? I think the other films in the series could just be compiled in SD as bonus discs in blu-ray sets, like the Legacy collections, just having HD prints of Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolfman, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Dracula's Daughter is certainly deserving of HD treatment, and I'd venture that it is markedly superior to Dracula itself.

The thing is that no one really does standard def-only transfers anymore. Pretty much every movie that's been released on DVD for ages now has an HD master in place. Since these sequels have been fully mastered in HD, why not go ahead and release 'em on Blu-ray? With as short as so many of those movies are, plus 1.37:1 being pretty easy to compress with those large pillarboxing bars, I'm sure they could find room for 'em.

If they already have HD transfers of them, then I definitely think they should release them that way.
I was only thinking that if it came down to them not wanting to include them in a set because they didn't want to spend the time or money to do HD transfers, then I'd rather they just include them in SD to replace the old sets.

Personally, I think this looks to have benefited more then Notorious from the HD-treatment but not quite at Rebecca levels.
