Since there are other characters on the cover holding guns, I don't know that I would call it "censorship." I suspect that whoever designed or approved the cover wanted to emphasize that Costner was playing a lawman rather than removing a firearm. (Note that, in the same series, Eddie Murphy is prominently holding a gun.

But the gun Eddie Murphy is holding is not pointed directly at you.

I think we're about to get worse than slipcovers. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has different art on the discs, and it's completely random.

People are already trying to trade to get them all.

I've been laughing at all the posts of people not happy with the disc art they received. It's the "what color clip did you get your Memento SE dvd" and "what character slipcover did you get for Sin City" all over again.

Let's not forget the Reservoir Dogs character slip covers. I remember scoring the only Mr. Brown in the store, and I thought I had hit a gold mine!

I'm cringing seeing these not arranged alphabetically.

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers

Man you guys are lucky. Nothing gets the chicks hot in the box faster than some good slipcovers.

A customer of mine is a Star Trek nut. He's 40 years old and has his desk covered in ST memorabilia. He showed me pictures of all his collections in his house then he pulls his shirt off to show me his ST tattoo. Wow, I like the show too but lining my home with figurines and having a Star Trek Christmas tree is well beyond my commitment.

Do you guys ever actually watch the movies? Or is the collecting the slipcovers the ultimate goal? Just trying to understand the attraction.

Why can't it be both?? Why does it have to be either/or??

I think it's the latter. Looking through a/v junkie's history, almost everything he's posted (at least on the first 3 pages of history) was slip-cover or case related.

Should ask a mod to change your name to slipcover junkie.

EDIT: I don't mean to come off as bagging on you, a/v junkie. It's just really easy with your "stealth bragging" of how you got all these cool slipcovers.

Especially when the thread was created to mock slipcover obsessions. Posting pics of your scores here isn't likely to win you any brownie points.

I did last year but no mod responded. I guess that name is taken. Oh well.

Brown points?? Come on man I'm not trying to get any brown points. LOL!! Just sharing my slipcover pics. If I wanted to get brown points then I would post a pic of my six pack abs

Anyhoo, here is what I got in the mail. I put in the spoiler tag so you guys can decide if you want to see the pic or not.

Spoiler:

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers

You bought two copies of Musketeers? Is this really Xage?

Are you keeping both copies of that movie because thats silly as you could just keep one copy and return on minus the slipcover

Is it worth anything today?

I noticed the clips on Memento being different colors. Is any one worth more than the others?

BTW, I did notice that the Star Trek BD 2-disc has a Kirk cover and a Spock cover under the slip. Is there any difference in value?

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers

I recently sold some DVD/BD's but kept the slips where appropriate. You never know if you'll be able to find them again when re-purchasing.

Because when you post things like this...

It's just slipcovers. No blu-rays. I bought them from a member on another forum.

I was joking with The Lizard King. We both collect slipcovers and we are good friends.
