Finally got to both. Both are good, but nothing I’d say is reference. Aquaman seems to have better overall depth compared to Shazam, but it’s not fully consistent throughout the movie.

Buy Disney movie, go see Disney movies in the theater, play stupid trivia games get points. Spend points on free movies or other Disney merch. It is still the best studio incentive program out there even if it isn't nearly as good as it used to be.

I might have asked this before, but anyone see The Great Wall on 3D Blu-ray? Wondering how it looks, etc...

Why is it funny? It says it’s not available anywhere in world though...

Because that movie in 3D is funny. Not everything needs to be in 3D.

True. I have many that don’t really deserve the 3D treatment. I’m still wincing at the thought of eventually seeing Gasper Noe’s Love in 3D. Some things, like you said tres, don’t need to be in 3D...

Lots of movies were issued in Germany with bad 3D conversions. I’ve learned to avoid those. “Love” was shot in true 3D however, still need to watch that one before I hear any more spoilers about it.

Review for Shazam. Sounds about right, particularly that there's no "wow" moment anywhere during the 3D presentation.

Looks like that "other forum" was a bit premature. Amazon now has a 3D listing for SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME:

Since this is Sony let's hope for a US release.

Will order that with Secret Life of Pets 2 once it's confirmed, since that also got snubbed in the US. Wondering if any new 3D displays will come out in other countries? My next one will likely be a projector if I can find one that isn't dark.

Wow! I can’t believe I’m saying this bc I really didn’t think much of it and given reviews, but had first in 3D, so I bit on King of the Monsters and sakes alive does this look good. Great depth and even dark night scenes from opening 2014 snippet was very visible and not dark. Little popouts with mayhem and debris flying. Very nice presentation thus far...

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Stopped into a Michigan Big Lots today (Aug 31) and they were having a 'Buy One Get One 50% Off' sale on all DVD's and Blu-rays. Mostly the same old same old, but there were some $5.00 3D combo packs I hadn't seen there before, mostly from Paramount, including:

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS
STAR TREK BEYOND
WORLD WAR Z
HERCULES (Dwayne Johnson)
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
SPONGEBOB MOVIE
XXX RETURN OF XANDER CAGE (I don't even remember this one being released in North America in 3D, so clearly I missed it. Ended up ordering it from the UK. Go figure!)
X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Worked out to $3.75 apiece.

Damn, we don't have a Big Lots near us, but I would love to get a copy of XXX. Hopefully they start showing up on eBay at a reasonable price.

Avengers: Endgame...knew this one was a winner!

"This is a showstopping 3D presentation which shouldn't go overlooked by Marvel fans. One of the best 3D presentations by Marvel. A must-own release."

Surprised no UK. German releases are usually fucked up in some way. Into the Spider-Verse was so I’m hesitant...

Sales of 3D media must've really cratered due to a couple years of no new 3D TV's and declining 3D interest at theaters.

Just noticing that? I don't see much decline in theatres, though. Seems like most franchise/blockbuster films still come with 3D as an option, but it's not like it was ever going to take over as a preferred option, nor should it have. It's a niche, just the way a lot of us like it. As a 3D buff since childhood, being able to enjoy these movies in theatres and, especially, at home for the past decade has been one of life's great desires fulfilled. Having to source 3D blu-rays from around the globe now is in keeping with the 'thrill of the hunt' that motivates most collectors of stuff. The format cratering is hardly surprising considering DVD and Blu-ray are cratering as a whole. All of our days are numbered!

That said, I've been scooping up a lot of used 3D Imax and BBC Earth discs over the past couple of months while they're still available and fairly cheap (at least in the US). Those are some amazing presentations, even if they tend to run short.

Also, I watched the 3D GODZILLA KOTM a few nights back and was only intermittently impressed. So much fog, rain, dust and darkness in that film (and the first one!) that the conversion artists must've had their work cut out for them. Not a bad 3D experience, but the movie as a whole was insistently dumb. I'll keep it just to revisit the battle scenes, I suppose.
