It sucks because that cover with the really bad ass Optimus Prime on is only a barebones release and i'll bet anything that the 'ultimate' edition coming out in november will have an atrocious badly photophopped image of Sam and Prime and probably Carly too and the Army dudes.

The cover for the limited edition was posted in this thread already. It's a few posts above yours. It's just a closeup of Optimus' face.

I'm noticing a trend with the barebones or just plain 1 disc edition of blu ray movies usually have better artwork than the special edition or 3D releases (like Thor and Captain America etc)

I prefer the 3D Thor cover. The 2D is a bunch of floating heads (or that lazy "God Of Thunder" onesheet if you got the BestBuy exclusive slipcover).

RedBox here I come, most likely pick up the 3D set.

It is real greed for them not to put both sets out at the same time, I will not fall for this "Trick".

The only way to stop this is to Vote with our $$$$.

It's only a trick if they don't tell you about it, which they were nice enough to do. I think it's really cool when a studio let's you know what's coming out in advance...if you just want the movie at a lower price, pick up that edition this Friday. If you want the release with extra features and/or 3D, wait till December.

Most studios wouldn't bother to tell you about future releases. I'm not a big Michael Bay fan, but good on him for telling us.

If you're looking for the Sentinel Prime cover at Walmart, you may not get it. I was at a store this morning who was still setting up their TF3 display, and they only received the combo pack.

Then I went online and did an instore pickup with the Sentinel cover, and it said ready for pickup on "October 14". I guess these will be showing up late.

There are pics of the Best Buy exclusive cover on blu-ray.com. The back doesn't have the huge hole cut out for the UPC. They have their own UPC tag covering the Shockwave side. FYI for those who care. :)

i would facepalm if paramount only released the deluxe edition with extras only on the 3D set.

This was $17.99 at Best Buy while I was visiting Austin TX. Figured that was good enough for me to buy, since I dont care much about extras.

What's wrong with that? 3D editions are usually only $5 more and come with a 2D version. You could sell the 3D disc for $15 at least.

I'm picking this up today but can't wait to get ahold of this in 3D.

*snip*

Nice collection. Sadly it's also a good demonstration at how the exclusive game has changed in the last five years.

Well the important thing is that you're getting it for the movie ;) and my guess is you don't have two kids in college.

Grabbed the BB $17.99 version yesterday. Fortunately I don't care about any frills or packaging. I'd rather have the money for things like gas or more movies.

Rented the BR and I was wowed by the VQ.

My daughter can in with about 2 hrs to go in the movie and she was surprised at how clear the movie was.

This would the movie I would pop in to show off my HDTVs VQ.

I turned on the 3D Conversion on the HDTV I was thought it looked great. Then, I turned it off because I got tired of wearing the glasses.

As great as the PQ is, the AQ is even more impressive. I hope the deluxe edition will have some in depth features regarding the sound design and final mix.

The BD 3D+BD+DVD+Digital Copy combo pack is set for 12/06/11.

The set will include 3 Blu-ray discs and the same DVD that the bare bones edition has.

Nice. I just hope it's not obscenely overpriced, despite the $10 coupon. Any word on a set that'll include the score on CD?
