"region free" Blu-Ray discs
Good evening.
Is there a reliable source to find out which Blu-Ray discs are really region-free (ie: play on Region A players without mods)?
Are the extras on region-free discs always region-free?
Thanks for your time.
Come to Vermont and see the leaves - the roads are clear and there are plenty of rooms available!

Re: "region free" Blu-Ray discs
Note that on some discs (mainly from region B), the feature may be 50hz HD, which won't play on many US players and TVs. The site above warns about these types of discs.
As for extras, they're always the same region as the disc they're on. So unless they're on a separate disc from the feature, they'll be all region as well. However, even then, they may be 50hz HD or PAL SD, making them unplayable on a lot of US equipmet, even if the feature plays fine.
For example, I have the all-region UK edition of Red Cliff, with the feature in 24p, but trailers and extras in PAL. Since the trailers play before the menu comes up, some US players can't play the disc at all, while others need a workaround.
Another example is my Battle Royale set, where the third disc in it is a PAL DVD
