barebones as in 0 features, or barebones as in lacks a digital copy? I thought it was the latter.

The price I read was $19.96.

The "fix" worked for me too.

I can't believe this many years into the format we still have to suffer these bugs!

At least its playing. I can't get Rio or XMen to play. I'm using an internal LG BD drive I've always used used its been firmware update and everything and Cyberlink will not play either. Contacted them and nothing is working.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

I had no problem playing the disc on my PS3. But a weird thing happened when I ejected it.

The disc ejected fine. But instead of going back to the PS3 dashboard, I get an error message that said something like "invalid disc". Then the screen went black. I had to reboot the PS3.

It's a 3 disc set. Digital Copy is on one of the disks.

Three. 1 BDs, 2 DVDs (retail DVD of the film and digital copy).

I rolled into Target shortly after 9am and there was not a single copy out. Asked the guy at the electronics counter for a copy and he pulled out a box that only had about 20 copies in it. If you're looking for the combo pack, I'd assume to get it sooner rather than later.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

Hmm. I wasn't going to bite, but since I can sell the DVD and DC by themselves, it'll make the BD dirt cheap.

Bring in a flyer from Fry's (because they do exist in So. Cal) and get them to price match for $19.99 too. I had no problems doing so at the Customer Service desk.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

Saw this in the theater, enjoyed it but wondered how many times I would watch again and if I should pick up the BD. Fred Meyers had a pretty good deal ($19.99 and free razor - ended up with bonus pack of razor + 6 cartridges) made the deal sweet for me as I needed cartridges anyway.
Have to say I enjoyed the movie more the second time around and glad I picked it up.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

I bought this release week at Wal-mart for 23 bucks. I literally kept putting the thing in my cart and out. I guess it was the shiny slipcase that broke my resolve. lol

I now regret the purchase. Great movie, but way too skimpy on the bonus features. No commentaries, and the featurettes are short and don't really go into any depth. I would have got the barebones edition if I had known this. Dvdtalk review was way off.

The more I watch this movie, the more I love it.

Also had to tweak my new 55 inch Samsung so it would display in "Movie" mode.

I put all my eggs in the Star Wars basket this quarter so I think I'm going to wait for the inevitable Black Friday sale for XMen:FC, Thor, Captain America, and Transformers.

What about the "Children of the Atom" Documentary that runs over an hour long? Or did this "Wal-Mart Edition" not have that feature?

I wish they'd kept in the deleted scene with Magneto making a guard gut himself during the raid on the General's compound. Hell, it was even in the trailer!

Walmart has 2 versions. 1 is the standard version with digital copy and extras, which include that long 70 minute documentary. The other version is a barebones release that they carry exclusively. That doc is broken up into parts, but it's still longer than what we usually get these days. Most are 15 minute fluff pieces.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

Has Fox addressed the skipping freezing and lagging issue with this disc?

Has there been a long term solution, or is it still just necessary to disable the internet and delete the data file to watch? I've been hesitant to rewatch just to deal with this issue.
