I'll be picking this up today during my lunch break. My mom randomly gave me $20 last week so I may get the 3D version after all. But maybe not.

So is the Best Buy release really a steelbook? Or just a cover?

I think someone mentioned on the Bargains thread it's not a steelbook, just a cover.

It's just a crappy slipcover. The front is the "God Of Thunder" onesheet sans text. The back of the slipcover is the cover illustration of the first issue of Thor.

I saw the slip cover, but I ended up going for the 3D version in the end. I would've jumped all over it if it were a steelbook. Knowing my local Best Buy, every single sticker on the exclusive slip cover would've torn the cover to shreds by the time they came off. Even Goo Gone surrenders to their superiour stickiness.

A fucking slipcover? I drove to a shit-ass BB in Las Vegas at the end of my vacation to get this, tried to convince the woman it was supposed to be a steelbook, then just left with this one. If I'd known this was all it was I wouldn't have bothered.

Seriously the worst limited edition packaging EVER. Complete BS.
It isn't even the entire cardboard slipcover that's different either, just the back side. Really, really lame. I can only imagine how cool a Thor steelbook would have been.

Re: Thor Blu-ray 3D, 2D and DVD, September 13.

Watched Thor this afternoon. I think it may be my favorite movie from summer 2011. I watched X-Men: First Class again last weekend, too, and I think Thor has the edge. The Blu-ray is just ridiculous, too. I thought X-Men's soundtrack was a bit tepid, but Thor blows off the roof.

Re: Thor Blu-ray 3D, 2D and DVD, September 13.

Been spending a ton of $$$ on BRs over the past month, so I have been waiting for the Thor BR to be available in the RedBox.

Then, I will pick on the Thor when it goes to $9.99 (Black Friday or whenever).

Found the movie entertaining, but not worth the $24 price tag.

Looking forward to the VQ, reviews have given it Ten Thumbs up.
