It just seems odd that no major stores online seem to have it and many don't even have a listing for it anymore. I only found 3 places that claim to have it in stock.

While I'm not familiar with this particular release, it is definitely out. It's the matter of getting to the various retailers across the country. Allegro Music's Half.com storefront and RightStuf.com currently has them in-stock.

A couple things to note here. Allegro Music (based in Portland, OR) is Media Blasters's distributor. More often than not, anime/live-action releases don't ship out at the same time (especially true for Blu-ray releases). I personally go by this in-stock/shipping hierarchy:

• Media Blasters (for conventions) / Allegro Music (online store and Half.com storefront) get stock first
• RightStuf.com typically is right behind
• ???
• basically everyone else

To me the whole process of getting new releases to all retailers (in a timely fashion) and getting releases replenished still need to be improved. Whether that really happens (maybe over time) or not remains to be seen.

This makes me wish what is out there is some bootleg that was accidentally released into the wild. There will soon be a real announcement confirming this and giving us a sample of what it really is.

But I know that isn't going to happen.

After reading about Media Blasters financial problems in the Destroy All Monsters! thread I went ahead and ordered the Riki-Oh disc from Rightstuf. I watched it last night, it's probably the best it's ever going to look, and it's extremely better than the old non-anamorphic Media Blasters dvd that I also have. I am thinking that this probably won't get another wide release and once the discs that are out there are bought there won't be another company that bothers to release it on blu-ray, the upconvert is an improvement.

I know it doesn't mean much coming from a stranger on a message board, but I ordered mine from Rightstuf on Monday and it arrived on Friday, and I haven't had any problems ordering from them before. Also, my main reasoning for ordering it from them was that they had it in stock and based off what I've been reading about Media Blasters I think that they're about done, and I don't see any other company in the U.S. caring enough to put it out on blu-ray. Media Blasters never cared enough to put out an anamorphic dvd, I am surprised they even bothered with the blu-ray.

Interesting seeing this thread bumped,I tried to watch this randomly for the first time via Netflix streaming, but it didn't have subs. Might need to try to locate a copy of this on blu now.

Do you mean an English soundtrack because Netflix is showing subs for me.

I found the movie most amusing using dubbed audio and subs on because they don't really match and they're both so bad, it made the movie that much better.

I totally agree! Amusement Factor is above notch watching it in Dubbed Mode (which doesnt make sense - but the Guilty Pleasure is WOW WOW!!)
