I'm shocked they actually used the right mask for the cover. Paramount could learn a thing or two from Uni.

Wow, Terror in the Aisles would be fantastic if true. A weird doc, but plenty of good clips.

As far as I'm concerned, the people there are just as bad as those on IMDb. They throw up bullshit left and right, so until we get a press release from Uni, I'm not getting my hopes up.

From the thread on Blu-ray.com--
I have the specs right here. Source: I have an account on the USPHE (Universal Home Ent.) Publicity website
Seems on the level. Hopefully Terror in the Aisles won't be edited for rights issues.

re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11

Horrordvds.com originally posted the information and they're a legitimate source.

A poster even added that Terror in the Aisles is an "edited" version whereas the films they couldn't secure the rights to will be replaced by that of films within the Universal library. I'm curious if the documentary will be that in HD or standard definition.

That's what I figured - at least they're going to add clips (plenty of choices from the Universal vault there!) rather than just include a shortened documentary. Here's a list of films shown in the original documentary:

Spoiler:
Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
The Ghost Breakers (1940)
Hold That Ghost (1941)
The Wolf Man (1941)
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
Strangers on a Train (1951)
Scared Stiff (1953)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
This Island Earth (1955)
To Catch a Thief (1955)
Tarantula (1955)
The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)
The Deadly Mantis (1957)
The Fly (1958)
Psycho (1960)
Konga (1961)
King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962)
What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (1962)
The Birds (1963)
Wait Until Dark (1967)
Rosemary's Baby (1968)
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Klute (1971)
Play Misty for Me (1971)
Frogs (1972)
Frenzy (1972)
The Thing with Two Heads (1972)
Sisters (1973)
The Exorcist (1973)
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Bug (1975)
Jaws (1975)
Grizzly (1976)
The Food of the Gods (1976)
The Omen (1976)
Marathon Man (1976)
Carrie (1976)
Suspiria (1977)
The Car (1977)
The Fury (1978)
Jaws 2 (1978)
Eyes of Laura Mars (1978)
Midnight Express (1978)
The Legacy (1978)
Dawn of the Dead (1978, Italy)
The Silent Partner (1978)
Halloween (1978)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
Alien (1979)
The Brood (1979)
Dracula (1979)
Nightwing (1979)
When a Stranger Calls (1979)
The Fog (1980)
Friday the 13th (1980)
The Shining (1980)
Dressed to Kill (1980)
Alligator (1980)
Scanners (1981)
The Howling (1981)
The Funhouse (1981)
Ms. 45 (1981)
Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)
An American Werewolf in London (1981)
Halloween II (1981)
Nighthawks (1981)
Saturday the 14th (1981)
The Seduction (1982)
Vice Squad (1982)
Cat People (1982)
Poltergeist (1982)
John Carpenter's The Thing (1982)
Alone in the Dark (1982)
Videodrome (1983)
Firestarter (1984)

It's a pretty campy, fun affair, hosted by Donald Sutherland and Nancy Allen. Been a while since I've seen it, but I do recall an awful song layered over many of the clips.

re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11

Even with the original list, a majority of the clips came from the Universal library as it stands.

Paramount has been more "open" about letting documentaries use clips from Friday the 13th (like the boring His Name Was Jason) and I'm sure it's not hard to secure clips from the independent titles like Dawn of the Dead and Suspiria. It's really Fox/MGM and Warner that we'd have to worry about.

Here's the first 15 minutes of Terror in the Aisles (the rest is on YouTube as well) for those who aren't familiar with it. I hadn't expected any extras at all, so this is a nice surprise. Hopefully Halloween III will be a SE as well. This is really shaping up to be a terrific fall for HD horror.

But hey, thanks for coming!

Your with New Beverly? I do have to say you have a great theatre though, with awesome progaming and i regularly attend there several times a month.
And usually the Q&As you guys put on are really good. so please dont take my critcism of this one particular Q&A the wrong way.

SO what happened is this really not the release we thought it was going to be a few hours ago, Amazon doesnt list it anymore. But I did see that the Digital bits have it listed on their, and usually Bill Hunt will only put something that is not a certainty in the rumor mill. hopefully amazon will relist shortly

Holy shit, I hope those extras are legit! I really enjoy Halloween II. SO glad to see the studio is finally giving it the respect it deserves.

Sounds like they are taking the tv version of Halloween II and using it for the deleted scenes and alternate ending. Why not just have the tv version as the bonus? Was there a tv version of Halloween III?

Because the TV version of Halloween II (unlike the TV version of the 1978 original) is an incoherent, jumbled mess that doesn't make a lot of sense. In the TV version, when Myers enters the Elrod home to get the butcher knife, after Mrs. Elrod notices the blood left behind on the cutting board and begins screaming it cuts to a still frame of Myers (lol!) leaving the viewer to assume that Myers has killed Mrs. Elrod. There are amateurish edits like this the entire way through. We're probably better off just seeing the alternate footage in a special deleted scenes section. Also, many of the deaths of the hospital staff are completely cut from the TV version, so it's as if most of the hospital staff just vanishes mid-way through.

I've seen enough to believe the specs are legit. Too bad we aren't getting a commentary.
