No Megamind 3D Bluray?

Is it possible Best Buy will have it as an exclusive like Last Airbender & supposedly Jackass 3? I can't see why they wouldn't put out a 3D version unless they plan on packaging it with a tv or something lame.

Samsung only releases 3D on Blu-ray if they get paid to do so.

I'm being serious.

Megamind 3D is exclusive to Samsung 3D TV owners, so not released to general public until the exclusivity agreement ends.

Which is typically 1 year.

Dreamworks is only hurting themselves by not offering an individual 3D release to the public. I didn't love this movie (it was ok), but if I could buy it as an individual 3D Blu-ray I probably would because 3D Blu-rays are still pretty scarce these days. But since there's not an individual 3D release of this movie, I won't be buying it at all.

So this 3D thing gets us to buy movies that we really don't care about? I'm glad I'm staying away from it then.

At the Blu-Con conference in November, the Dreamworks Animation rep strongly suggested that Blu-ray in general isn't a significant part of the studio's business. Their main audience is families, who are more likely to buy a movie on DVD.

But the 3D is integral to the director's vision. I can't watch Metro Man juggling babies in 2D!

I see your point, but Megamind is just one of those movies I thought was decent but not great, and yes, if it were offered in 3D it might just get me to open up my wallet. However, that doesn't always work with me. For instance, I have no interest in buying Alice in Wonderland, Step Up, Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs, Legend of the Guardian, Monster House, Clash of the Titans, A Christmas Carol, or Piranha even though they're all available in 3D.

You don't want Step Up? How could you not?

Have they released any good 3D movies?

Well, everyone's taste is different, but I'd say yes: Despicable Me, How to Train Your Dragon, the Shrek fillms, and Avatar. So far, only the first movie in this list has been released individually on Blu-ray 3D, but I bought the others in 3D starter kits and sold the glasses on eBay.

I also have Open Season on Blu-ray 3D. For me, this movie falls into the same category as Megamind: the film itself is ok but not great; however, the 3D effect is very good all throughout the movie.
