It's a nice set, but I have to admit that extras disc is plain ass.
I can't say I've been a big fan of this book-style packaging that appears to be the latest trend with this set and the Indiana Jones collection. It looks nice, but I think I need a tutorial on how to get these discs out without scratches or fingerprint smudges. Makes me want to apologize for all the nasty things I said about the original Back to the Future packaging. |

You're supposed to discard that disc and use the slot to hold your Never Say Never Again Blu-ray instead. ;)

So I'm going to get that. It does seem these Fox sets give a bit more room to get the disc out compared to sets like Indiana Jones. |

Is there somewhere that does have the complete run-down of all the extras on this set?
If there isn't one yet, this being the internet, could someone post a link when there is? I hear one of the extras from one of the Casino Royal releases is missing - I'd like to know what else is missing, and if there's any new stuff. Source: HERE The above link also discusses the other deleted Bond extras. EDIT: Only "new stuff" appears to be what's on the 23rd disc, and a decent chunk of that is the movie title sequences in a montage. |

I ordered the set on Amazon the day it was first available. When the price dropped, the price of my order didn't adjust, so I canceled and re-ordered at the lower price. I didn't realize there was a book involved with the early orders.
However, when my set arrived today, it had the book with it! So there you go. Just watched The Living Daylights, which looked pretty good. |
Re: James Bond Update
I do recall that I actually placed the new order THEN canceled the original order. That might have had an effect (or it might not, who knows what happens in Amazon's warehouses).

Re: James Bond Update
Got mine from Amazon today and it had the free book excerpt. Very nice looking but I had already ordered the full size book. Gonna give the excerpt version to my Dad since he bought his set from BB.
I had pre-ordered my copy from Amazon way back when the set was first announced and then canceled at the end of last week before they price-matched BB. I then placed a new order a couple of days later and still got the book so maybe most people who pre-ordered will still receive the book. It is a good looking book and was a lot larger (page and size-wise) than I was expecting. I fucking love the packaging design on this set. I know many don't like the "book" type packaging but it doesn't bother me. Be careful when pulling out your discs and you will have no problem with these kinds of sets. I love how they have the year and the bond girl for each flick. And the black, sleek look is great. Extremely happy. And if the bonus disc sucks, I will put my copy of Never Say Never Again in there. Goes well my Bond wall! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...rism/002-1.jpg |
Re: James Bond Update
Anybody interested in a James Bond ultimate viewing thread which leads up to Skyfall? I just did the numbers and it would be tough but it would be approx a movie every two days.

Re: James Bond Update
I can't say I'd respond to every movie, but I'd be up for it as much as I can.
I did chuckle at that Bond wall brianluv, but it's actually pretty cool. Reminds me of something I had when I was a kid. Only went up through the Roger Moore films though. |

Re: James Bond Update
A Target worker on CAG confirmed their exclusive Bond titles:
A View to a Kill (058-37-0713), Tomorrow Never Dies (058-37-0712) and Licence to Kill (058-37-0715) are all 9.99. |

Re: James Bond Update
I thought about a JB marathon but then I forgot about the Horror challenge. I don't follow all the rules of the challenge but I do personally watch all horror during the month of October and this would seriously take up a lot of horror time. I may start and viewing thread in November.

Re: James Bond Update
Does anyone know how much of the Sony Pictures Casino Royale Deluxe edition DVD was ported over to the BD in this set? I'm still hanging on to that DVD just in case some of the stuff didn't make it over.
It sucks that the Quantum of Solace extras are exactly the same as the previous release. I own the previous 2-disc DVD release. I wish they would have added a Foster commentary and a more extensive Making Of documentary. |

Yep, I got the Movie Poster book too - so I guess it didn't matter - Amazon must have had a ton of them.

Re: James Bond Update
Because is would make too much FUCKING SENSE to have something like this as an extra on the Bond set. FUCK. Documentary called Everything or Nothing. Premiering Oct. 5th on EPIX.
<object id="sbPlayer" width="625" height="377" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" classid="clsid:D<param name="movie" value="http://www.springboardplatform.com/mediaplayer/springboard/video/cs006/71/563317/"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.springboardplatform.com/mediaplayer/springboard/video/cs006/71/563317/" width="625" height="377" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" wmode="transparent"></embed></object> |
Re: James Bond Update
Damnit!! I can't see the documentary since I don't get EPIX. I wonder if it will get posted to Netflix or Amazon Prime since they have a deal with EPIX.
I guess it's possible the documentary could end up on the SkyFall BD next year. |

Bad transfer. I still love the movie itself.

Re: James Bond Update
I have the original DVD sets of the bond flicks, and the only blu bond I had was quantum.. so upgrading was a no-brainer. I just watched Dr. NO... and wow. I am now really glad I picked this set up. Looking forward to seeing the rest.
