How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
I'll put this question here because I don't know where else to put it, but how often do you guys buy Blu Rays or regular DVD's? I find myself on Ebay everyday (not buying everyday) trying to look for the deals. So, how often do all of you guys make these purchases?

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
eBay is a seller's market. There are much better deals to be had here if you pay attention.

Every Tuesday.

Almost every Tuesday.

Everytime lizard updates the Amazon thread. (I love my prime and hate Bestbuy.....).

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
I pick up one or two every week. Between Target, Best Buy and Amazon, there is almost always some Blu for $15 or less I'm willing to buy.

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
up until now i was ordering stuff almost daily via Amazon and the marketplace...but now I only buy new releases from a select few companies and rent the rest.

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
It seems like I buy something every other day, either online or in a store. Yes, I have a problem...

How do you figure? From all that I have seen, Ebay offers the lowest prices.

I think this should be moved to the HD Forum.
Anyway, as to the question: I buy... when I feel like it and my wallet can afford it. As we all do. I sometimes go on mad shopping sprees, and then there are times when I don't really feel like ordering anything at all. It just depends on how much money I have and what titles are available that I still feel are needed in my collection. I love cinema. So many films interest me. However, I don't tend to make purchases on newly released titles. I usually tend to wait for price drops on movies because I know that they are going to drop in price eventually and waiting allows me an opportunity to add even more of the films I love to my ever-growing collection. I hardly ever make purchases just because I simply want something. I have to consider the reason why I want the film or show. Then I decide if I believe the price will go down in the future, if I suspect a better edition will become available in the near future, or if the purchase I am considering seems like a safe bet for adding to the collection. In the end though, I basically buy Blu-ray's all the time. |

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
You started an exact duplicate of this a hour ago in the blu-ray bargain forum....

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
I usually average 1-3 purchases a week.

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
Maybe he started a new thread here because of my suggestion that the thread belonged in HD Talk.
However, my hope was that a moderator would move the original thread. |
Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
I haven't bought a DVD in a long time. I have no schedule for buying BDs. And I avoid eBay.

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
Very seldom on the BR and never on the DVD. I rent 95% of what I see.
|
Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
I look for DVDs practically every day, but since I already have most of what I want, I usually don't find anything on any kind of a regular basis. But when I do find something interesting and at a decent enough price, I buy it. -kd5-

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
I purchase at least one blu-ray or tv show a month. It really depends on what's coming out or what's on sale. During BF I purchased nearly 25 blus and dvds, but last week I only bought two (Dexter season 3 and Mystery Team).

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
It probably averages out to every other day.

Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
I hardly buy anything anymore unless it is a sale I cant pass up or for christmas/birthday or if I have a gift card. I used to buy DVDs all the time, but it just got to be too much. I do have some Blu-Rays, but I really have no desire to try and replace my DVDs as they still look fine to me. There is rarely anything I want to see in theaters the last couple of years, I just use Netflix for most new Blu-Ray releases.

It's morning so I'll elaborate. I went from buying 5 or more a week to buying a handful a year. I rent from BB online and will put a few good BR titles on my birthday or Christmas list. I never buy DVD's anymore. No need. If anything I'm trying to pare down my collection to titles I'll actually watch again. I am no longer a collector. I'm just a watcher. |
Re: How often do you buy DVD/BRD?
There is no set timetable for my buying. It depends on the title, availability and deal. I usually won't buy if the price isn't right, as most of us, nor am I blind buying much of anything anymore. This year i am going to try not to buy more than a few titles a month.
