Has anyone here upgraded their Lost in Translation dvd to blu-ray?

Has anyone here upgraded their Lost in Translation dvd to blu-ray? Is the BD video transfer good enough to warrant an upgrade?
thanks

Thanks, yeah it seems like it might not be worth doing unless you watch this movie like twice a year or better, but it is only $14.99 right now. I was hoping to get a few more replies, anyone else?

It was shot on film. The BD looks great, but this will never look OMG good. I watched this last night actually. Such a fantastic film.

well I checked several other review sites and it's just little above average transfer. It's probably just the direct conversion from HD-DVD that was released few years ago. I'm sure there are now newer technology/technique to make better transfers, which this probably didn't use. That's why I'm skeptical of all the release that was released as HD-DVD before. Tremor being really bad :(

Personally, I'm just going to wait until new transfer or wait until this goes down in prices to $5-$7. I have my DVD until then.

I think I will do that as well, thanks.

Yes, and yes.

Yes, it's worth it. The nature of Coppola's shooting makes it so the film won't knock you back at any point, but the more film-like nature and heightened resolution (as well as native fps movement) make the Blu-ray worth the price -- currently $15 at Amazon, a steal.

It's also $14.99 at Best Buy if you don't want to wait.

Lost in Translation is personal fave. Might grab the BD at the current Amazon price.

I went ahead and upgraded today, after all the dvd version was a pretty crumby transfer, compression artifacts etc. I will post back with my thoughts on the blu-ray transfer after I watch it. thanks everyone.

I watched L.I.T. tonight on BD, a bit soft but still a huge upgrade over the dvd as far as I am concerned, well worth the upgrade for this great film.

On my way to B.B. I stopped by the used record shop near me that buys dvds to sell my sd dvd of L.I.T., I looked around the store for a few minutes and went up to the counter to get my money and the girl told me .25 cents, I laughed and told her to give me the dvd. I then proceeded to open up the dvd, pull out the cover and I ripped it in two, then I took the dvd out and broke it in half and told her to give me the quarter. LOL, I won't be selling them any more dvds. :p

I like this but until it goes sub $10 my HD-DVD will do just fine.

I am not expecting a marked increase in video quality but the lossless audio should hopefully be better.

Silver Platters? Yeah, credit for DVD's dried up awhile ago. SP's pretty good for blu-rays tho (around $4 I think) and most CD's of course. I've always been happy with their credit, they're really the last local place for trade-ins it seems.
