Why can't they sue the original fucking poster art for Tron? It's a fucking classic poster, and it looks awesome and they pretty much used it for the DVD release back when! already! What the fuck, Disney?

Re: TRON: LEGACY DVD/Blu Combo Pack >> 04/2011 (?)

Disney is very concerned about people differentiating between the original and Legacy, so it may be that they've downplayed the original art to make sure there is no confusion.

From everything I've heard, Disney looks at the original Tron like the re-headed stepchild. They really want people to enjoy the original for the nostalgia, but would rather people see Legacy as the central film of the franchise.

I recently watched an old copy of the original and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it after seeing Legacy. It's amazing how the confusing story of Legacy actually makes the story of the original seem to actually make sense by comparison!

I just looked at that art, and if I'd seen it, I'd have believed it was real.

Alright, alright, here's the High Def Digest/TheHDRoom artwork. Which I still think is totally fake -- too much empty space.

So to get in 3D and the original I have to but it twice? Fuck that.

People are banking a lot on what seems to be pure speculation at this point. Let's wait for some actual concrete details.

Disney is looking at the original Tron that way because according to rumors (which I feel have sort have been confirmed by my friend who works at Disneyland who was able to say yes they did do screenings of the first Tron movie) when it was shown, a lot of people who had never seen it before were outright laughing at the now outdated technology and couldn't see how this was ever considered cutting edge.

Because of that, Disney heads panicked and thought everyone else might feel the same way so they postponed the release of the first movie to make sure others who hadn't seen it before might feel the same way.

I think a Blu combo release of both movies at once is the best way to go with it myself.

Bambi II did have the better artwork, didn't it.

UK art on Amazon.co.uk. Looks like the first Tron may be a part of the set.

That Tron cover is terrible. I thought it was someone's crappy photochop.

If that's really the cover art, someone ought to be fired.

I hope they are also sold separately, with DVD copies included, and lenticular or foil slip covers.

It seems obvious to me that these images should be the ones used for the cover art. Why can't Disney see that?

Yeah, that's what any normal person would've expected.

Apparently Disney's Blu-ray department is run by retarded baboons.

Re: TRON: LEGACY DVD/Blu Combo Pack >> 04/2011 (?)

Those are all temporary images (except TRC's posters, of course). Disney have yet to disappoint with finished Blu-ray artwork on virtually any of their premium releases (such as the various animated classics). However, I wouldn't blame them for withholding it for as long as they can in this day and age . . .

I also have doubts they'd let any product on the market where the Disney name is actually partially obscured by the Blu banner at the top of the sleeve!

More info now from Amazon.com. Hopefully we'll get dates and prices soon. (Seems Disney listened to complaints about the U.K. box art)

As am I and I'm not set up for 3D (but will be worth the price since it includes the 2D BD and the original on BD).

Same.

Looking at the identity disk further, it actually seems to be the same as the deluxe one sold in stores. Maybe someone who has purchased a few can Clu us in on any differences? (Yes, bad joke)

Man, that five-disc set is nice. Wish there was a slightly cheaper 4-disc version without the 3D BD since it's just useless to me, but...nice.

Agreed. However, I'm not sure I'll even mind buying it with the 3D version included. It was perhaps the only film I have seen in 3D that truly blew me away visually. If I ever get a 3D capable HDTV in the distant future I can imagine wanting to see the film again with the same presentation.
