Harry Potter Box Set (Parts 1-6) Is it edited?

Okay, the Harry Potter Blu-Ray box set is on Amazon deal of the day for $39.99. I'm very close to buying it... BUT, there were three reviews out of about 90 reviews that made the claim that the movies were edited and missing scenes. I figured that was bullshit, and I assumed that they were mistaking the extended versions for the theatrical versions, etc...

BUT every website I find the Box set listed on lists the total running time as being 871 minutes. The only problem is that the total running time of 1-6 theatrical running times is 903 minutes, so that is definitely shorter.

However, this box set came out a year ago, and I don't see a movie like Harry Potter going a full year without there being a huge internet uproar if the films were really edited.

So, if anyone owns this, can you confirm that these are the theatrical cuts, or even if you don't own it, weigh in with your thoughts.

This is the box art listed on Amazon

To my knowledge, it contains the same discs as the individual releases. And you can't always trust listed runtimes.

Why would you buy an incomplete box set? The last two movies will surely be out by next year.

Because it's only $40?

The last few posters were right -- it's $40 AND it's a gift, AND I must say that who cares if the final film isn't with it? I'm buying these for myself as well, and when the final film comes out, I'll buy that one, too. I don't really have to buy them all at once, not sure why I'd need to. I don't care about having any kind of flimsy box to house all 7 of the films together either. I want the movies themselves.

I agree: don't trust the beancounters when it comes to matters like content of a film

I wish the Ultimate Editions or whatever were on Gold Box.

Perhaps next year when they start offering an ultimate box set.

I remember reading about some ultimate model of Hogwarts, which came with the first 5 or 6 movies, but had disc slots for the rest.

I think that was a French set. Saw a picture on Blu-ray.com awhile back and thought it looked great.
