I find it really odd it went out of print that quickly. Yet the DVD is still availible.

DUH! I just meant that I didn't really see a need for another calibration disc, least of all from Disney. They're much more known for appropriating public domain stories and turning them into films that they then fiercely defend the copyrights on than for any kind of technical know-how.

Sorry if this would be considered a threadcrap... it just seemed like someone had died when it was just another superfluous "home theater setup" disc going OOP. Especially when it comes to Disney, a release going OOP is hardly worth so much as a blink.

Try reading the reviews. It was user friendly and in-depth. Hardly what should be called superfluous.

Thanks for resurrecting this old thread. I had forgotten that I'd had interest in this. I was dismayed to find the BD now OOP. However, Frys still has them in store. I had my brother pick one up yesterday (Sunnyvale, CA) to ship to Charleston, SC.

They only had it for a couple of days it seems on the Disney Movie Rewards site. Out of stock, then completely removed. Not it's not availible anywhere online for the most part, unless you want to take the EBay/reseller route. And at a Fry's if you're near one.

Actually, it looks like Best Buy still has it on backorder, but still availible to purchase. Online only for $34.99, but free shipping.

I will eventually pick this up either with a price reduction or Disney Rewards. Sucks that it does not include the Goofy short but sounds like a solid calibration disc.

This does have the Goofy shorts called Home Theater Basics with Goofy. Shorts have 7 parts for sound, picture, displays, cables, resolution, Blu-Ray, and screen size.

The short was already mentioned in this thread but it's a Goofy short called "How to Hook Up Your Home Theater" and from what I've read they only include a snip or two from it.
