Just made the call myself. I have been meaning to check my copy and finally did last night. Really odd thing to happen and I don't understand why Sony just didn't do a new firmware update to fix the problem that it appears their firmware caused.

I might get rid of mine but don't know if I want to deal with the trouble if the person I sell it too on Half.com tries to play it on their PS3.

I called on the 13th and I didn't get mine.

turns out I got it the 28th....didn't get a heads up from UPS from it though...so that's why it was sitting in my apt's. office the whole time.

Got mine minutes ago via UPS. Brand new sealed copy of Sunshine. Awesome. Took about two weeks I think. I'm in Los Angeles.

I called on 13th or 12th, second day after it was announced but I just called today in the morning and they told me a new batch was shipped out last week and expect to see something this week, if not call again.

Just called today and the whole process took literally less than two minutes. I'm impressed!

Well, I'll be calling Monday. This was one of the first blus I bought and I've probably watched it 3 or 4 times, though not since whatever Sony update caused the fuck up. The wife and I just popped it in, got a couple minutes in and all of a sudden Cillian Murphy's talking about weightlessness training and won't shut up. Did some searching and found this thread and some other discussions on it. Can't believe some of the Sony responses that people have posted around, basically saying it's Fox's fault.

Yeah, believe it or not...Fox isn't to blame..which is funny cuz lately everything wrong associated w/ them is by their own mistakes..but this all Sony's fault and Fox is taking the hit and fixing it up for us.

I called last month and got my replacement. Brought the new one in to work last week to watch here during lunch and wasn't getting popups. But I was getting icons up top to show there was something there. Guess now I'll have to check it out at home on the PS3 to make sure my replacement is actually a good copy.

...where do you work where it's ok to watch BDs? Is this like...a bd drive on your comp or the break room or what?

Well, it is possible that FOX didn't author the disc correctly to conform to 3D standards? I've no idea. I just know that FOX got this fixed, and for that, I'm quite pleased.

I don't think it's their job to do that w/ a movie that has no reason to be involved in anything 3D related.

So I got me one of these fucked up PIP discs yesterday from GoHastings. What a pain in the ass.
