Yup, I didn't buy the UK box set hoping the US would get a release. What's 1 extra year? If I really want to re-visit the series in the meantime, I'll just watch my old DVD's.

There is no PAL or NTSC regarding HD content, and all Warner BDs are coded R0.

PAL or NTSC could still apply to any standard-def bonus features on the discs.

With that said, Warner invariably authors all SD features in NTSC so that it can distribute the same disc in all teritories.

Cool. I might pick this up. Though at around 48 bucks, it's priced a bit high.

Well, when you've managed 29 years without a single time killed... yea.

Damn, I was hoping it would be released this year. I don't get why other countries get releases that are American made films before we do! Makes no sense to me.

Warner, Sony, Fox, Paramount, Disney, and Universal always include 480i/p SD extras, 1080i/60hz HD, and/or 1080p/24f HD extras.

Local distributors like Dutch Filmworks, Optimum (who is part of the Universal family), Entertainment in Video, etc will generally include extras in 576i/p SD and 1080i/50hz.

Re: Lethal Weapon Bluray boxset

Basicly all the major studios who produce region free discs encode all their SD extras in NTSC.

I just looked at the Back To The Future set on amazon.co.uk and it said region 2. That's a typo, right ?

Amazon frequently just copies the specs from the DVD listings over to the Blu-ray listings. That's not a reliable source of info, unfortunately.

Just a headsup. The Lethal Weapon UK BD set has gone down alot in price since this thread was originally started. It's now selling for 16.97 pounds, which is roughly $26.

I picked up 2 copies, one for me and one for my brother in law for X-Mas. Not going to wait until the 2012 U.S. release. $26 is a great price to get these 4 movies in Hi-Def plus the new extras.

Re: Lethal Weapon Bluray boxset

Thanks DJariya for the heads up on the price. I had almost bought this set numerous times before but held out for the US release or for a cheaper price. I finally gave in and bought it last Thursday.

It came today. Pretty damn quick. Put in the first disc and was blown away by the picture quality. This set is great so far and can't wait to get into the new special features. Thanks again.

Re: Lethal Weapon Bluray boxset

^^ No Prob.

I finished watching the new bonus disc a few nights ago and it's great. There are 4 new featurettes that run anywhere from 26-29 minutes each. New interviews with all the cast. Gibson, Glover and Donner are interviewed together at Donner's house and it was shot about 1 year ago.

Re: Lethal Weapon Bluray boxset

Bought 2 copies (one for me, one for an xmas gift) because 2 days ago it was at the low price of 10.83 pounds. Can't go wrong with $20 for this set IMO, can't wait until it gets here!

Re: Lethal Weapon Bluray boxset

Just ordered from Amazon UK. I could easily wait a year to get the US release of this, considering I have the first two on BD already, but I doubt I would be able to get it release week for $28 including shipping. Not a fan of the ratings being plastered all over the packaging and disc art, but I'll learn to deal.

I already own the UK box set. I'm glad I purchased this from Amazon UK because of the price.

Re: Lethal Weapon Bluray boxset

The bonus content in the U.S. release is exactly the same as the UK release. Already bought the UK release during the holidays and it was alot cheaper.

Re: Lethal Weapon Bluray boxset

Yeah, the UK set was a lot cheaper! And yes, that's the exact same set as the UK one.
