< $50 per season of a flagship HBO show really isn't that pricey. And of course the price will come down. We're still a ways out from the release.

After thinking about this and already owning the series on dvd I would probably have to see this for sub 80 bucks before I would bite. There are only 36 episodes so this shouldn't be well over a hundred dollars.

Why not? Hell, I think we're lucky the SRP is only $30 more than the DVD set. That seems pretty low for an HBO drama, which you must remember is about a solid hour per episode (no commercials). By comparison there's a $40 difference between Rome on DVD and BD (22 episodes). If you work it out to cost per episode, Deadwood is cheaper than Rome.

I was just thinking the same thing. I couldn't remember for certain when the sale was, thanks for the reminder.

I don't know if I'll bite for $95 (provided that is the cost during a potential 50% off). I already own Season 3 on DVD (long-ish story) which has hindered my purchasing of the series. Fringe is the only show I purchase anymore; the rest are rentals that I'm unlikely to revisit. I would revisit Deadwood, but it would have to be cheaper than $95.

After realizing that I own all the seasons of 24 (up through season 5) and have never rewatched any of them, I decided to slow down on the series purchases.
