Actually, they are sticking with the DVD cover art from the most recent DVD.

I can't see this (my work network is spotty) but if they are using the art from the most recent release that is lame. The original poster artwork and original DVD art are awesome!

The BR has all the special features and the DVD is usually barebones or has minimal features. Sometimes the DVD also has the digital copy on it. This'll be an easy double dip for me. Hopefully it includes a glow in the dark slipcover like the last release did.

Can someone paste the artwork here? No surprise this is a combo release.

I can't see the link either. Is it a combo release in a blu-ray case or ome of those crumby combo releases in a DVD keepcase?

I wonder if it's going to feature the same altered soundtrack/sound effects changes as the dvd.

Fox/MGM rarely sends out review titles early.

Re: "The Return of the Living Dead" BD 9/14

I didn't either, I was happy with my old one, which I'm still keeping in addition to the Blu-ray. I may just toss the DVD that comes with this new one and put my old disc in the case.

Here's a review - annoying to have to watch the DVD for the commentary, but the transfer looks pretty good.

I always liked the blue globe Invasion of the Body Snatchers cover art better than the new art.
Spoiler:
And isn't the new art kind of a spoiler?

I can't figure out which one is more annoying:

1. The commentary is DVD only.
-- OR --
2. The DVD included is the original bare bones disc from the birth of DVD that includes a non-anamorphic transfer. I don't see why they couldn't just throw the first disc from the reissue into the mix.

Re: "The Return of the Living Dead" BD 9/14

Because MGM is dumping old stock. These DVDs were likely sitting in a warehouse for years.
