In Bruges >>> 07/13/2010 (?)
Was on DVDaf doing a half-hearted update of my collection. One of the titles I searched was In Bruges, and it brought back an "announced" listing of In Bruges for July 13th.
Searched Amazon.com for correlation, and it turned up this dateless entry: http://www.amazon.com/Bruges-Blu-ray...3305487&sr=8-1 For some reason, the cover art from the foreign release is pictured. DVDEmpire has a listing matching the DVDaf date (I can't link to it because DVDEmpire links never work), as does DDD (http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cf...-B852A9877FC7/), so I figure this is legit. The one thing I'm hoping for from this release, should it turn out to be true, is a commentary with McDonagh. In a perfect world, there would also be a commentary with McDonagh, Farrell, and Gleeson, but just McDonagh would be enough to satisfy me. If we're lucky, the Oscar nom will have been enough to justify Universal tossing one on there. |

Yeah, it was mentioned in the Blu-ray Release announcements thread last month, but it probably deserves its own. That July 13th date is accurate.

 Awesome news!

Re: In Bruges >>> 07/13/2010 (?)
Great news. Assuming the transfer is noticeably better and we get some special features, I'd definitely be in for the upgrade. It would be a real treat if McDonagh's short film, "Six Shooter," was included as a bonus feature.

Also coming out this day is "Alpha Dog" and one other Universal title I can't remember right now.

Re: In Bruges >>> 07/13/2010 (?)
*sigh*
Posters on the Blu-Ray.com forums have indicated that not only does this not have the commentary I was dreaming of, but it actually loses a few featurettes from the DVD. I hear the PQ/AQ is top-notch though. |

FWIW, Best Buy has had this for sale for at least two weeks now.

I reviewed it here, although it is more about the movie than the disc: http://the-following-preview.blogspo...uges-2008.html
You may see this review, revised, pop up here, with more in-depth analysis of the video/audio/extras. |

dvdbeaver gave the PQ rating a "just o.k." review. I have the BD from France and the PQ is eye popping. Very clear and crisp. FWIW.
