FYI: This is now $9.99 at Amazon. Perfect price for me to bite for the new footage and the new extra, which sounds kick ass. Will hold onto the original release though for those extras.

Very much so. I'm glad about this new cut...but especially for the making-of Doc. Can't wait for The Expendables. If only it had moviecash to see it...

Re: Rambo - Uncut - July 27

anyone see, what i believe is the theatrical cut, on SpikeTV last night?

i swear that was the most graphic movie i have ever seen not on a pay cable channel. i dunno how they got away with showing almost everything in the te.

blown off heads, chopped in half bodies, everything. i was truly amazed. i know Spike gets away with stuff, but i can't believe they can get away with showing all they did.

Actually, Spike has been airing the new extended cut.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I didn't expect them to air the whole thing. Actually makes the bits of blurred subtitles (due to uses of the f-bomb) funny by comparison. Given the level of carnage, may as well go for broke.

Yeah, I admit. Rambo took me off guard w/ it's graphic violence. I was like "WTF?!" in the theater.

Rambo(2008) is one of the most kick ass movies I have ever seen in my life. OMG I hope Stallone does another one.

"F*ck the world."

No....it ended exactly where it needed to.

Agreed, I feel like the extended cut is what would've been shown in theaters if they were sure it would be the final one. A lot more character growth and such on Rambo's part...

Re: Rambo - Uncut - July 27

After reading this: http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=624222

I feel that it is not only EXTENDED but also CENSORED version of the movie. The word "Uncut" in this thread's title looks like poor joke now. Probably someone will re-edit both versions and create one, combined version containing most of the available footage.

What? The movie isn't "censored", I'm not sure if you understand what the definition of that word actually is....along with adding/changing/rearranging footage, Stallone chose to make some small edits in this version of the film....YOU may not like these minor trims, but it is not censorship, as the original slightly more graphic/extra CGI blood version is STILL available! It is called the theatrical cut.....

Nowhere is the new version actually being advertised or promoted as "uncut", that was just what whoever started this thread decided to name it....it is advertised as "extended cut" (which it is, longer than the theatrical version) and "unrated", which simply means it was not submitted to the MPAA for a rating....
The box of the back on the package even states: "This motion picture previously was released in a version rated R for STRONG GRAPHIC BLOODY VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULTS, GRISLY IMAGES AND LANGUAGE. This unrated version contains material different from the original R-rated version."

Re: Rambo - Uncut - July 27

Lionsgate would have had to resubmit the film to the MPAA for the extended cut to have an actual rating, I'm sure that was a cost cut/budgetary decision.

I'm surprised that this film took some 19 'producers' to produce this movie .

Re: Rambo - Uncut - July 27

well it was a shorter budget..so I'm presuming that a lot of "little bits" of money was thrown at this. Considering how fearful I could see someone just tossing their whole load at this. Hell...I'd be a bit worried too, regard that Balboa did good or not.

Re: Rambo - Uncut - July 27

I pick this up on Tuesday, 9.99 at Best Buy. A lot of the scenes were mostly extensions of scenes in the Theatrical cut. I liked the scene when Rambo went back to Burmeise Pirate's boat and got his knive out from the first three movies to hack up the remains then left it on the boat before he blew it up. I wish that would have stayed in the theatrical cut.
