Looking for James Bond information
I've been waiting a while and so far can't find any information on why all the Bond movies are out on blu-ray except my favorite "Diamonds Are Forever". Does anyone know why this movie is not being released?

Re: Looking for James Bond information
Bonds studio is up for sale, so don't expect any more blurays or bond films to come out until there is a new owner of the bond franchise

Re: Looking for James Bond information
Agent 0006 came around here just as poorly briefed. Do you know what happened to him? Moonraker every day for a month.

Re: Looking for James Bond information
I eagerly await Agent 0009's report.

"All" of the Bond movies (other than your personal favorite) are not yet out on BD...only 14 are (including the unofficial "Never Say Never Again")....that leaves 9 more still to be given the Blu-ray treatment: You Only Live Twice On Her Majesty's Secret Service Diamonds Are Forever The Spy Who Loved Me Octopussy A View To A Kill The Living Daylights Goldeneye Tomorrow Never Dies |

Sorry Agent-0008, but your intel is wrong...

Re: Looking for James Bond information
I only recognize the first Connery movies and the first two Roger Moores, everything else doesn't come close. I had not realized that I did not have You Only Live Twice, I guess my disappointment over Diamonds are forever clouded my judgment.
For those who wonder, 0008 is from Our Man Flint. |

He's saying that the rest are bad movies and his opinion is superior to yours so eat it. :D
And as far as ignoring Goldeneye, what kind of fan can you really be?! |

Re: Looking for James Bond information
Hrm....I dunno. To me...I consider the strong Connery ones great, I REALLY REALLY don't remember the Dalton or Moore films I may have seen scenes from them, and Goldeneye followed by Casino Royale. Based off what I have seen. Seems like Bond had a lot of crap.

Re: Looking for James Bond information
Not really a Saltzmen, more of a Guy Hamilton, Terrence Young fan. Especially Hamilton - 1) Goldfinger 2) Diamonds Are Frever 3) Live And Let Die 4) The Man With The Golden Gun. The Moore movies after Hamilton got too comedic. I was disappointed in Timothy Dalton run as I thought he was a great choice but the movies just didn't have the Bond feel for me. The most recent Bonds seem to have taken a step toward the orginal Bond feel and I have enjoyed them but just not enough to purchase them. If I stumble on them cheap I will probably pick them up.

Re: Looking for James Bond information
I'm a fan of the underrated On Her Majesty's Secret Service with George Lazenby.
|
Re: Looking for James Bond information
Lazenby kicks the crap out of Remmington Steele. IMO
|
Re: Looking for James Bond information
I have a feeling that the next time you watch Diamonds are Forever, you may realize just how lousy it really is. It has just as much dopey humor as the Moore pictures.

And I will again ask: can anyone explain why it is that they can fawn over the Daniel Craig era with praise...while dismissing Timothy Dalton's turn as Bond? No offense to Craig, but he's drowning in accolades for doing what Dalton did 20 years earlier.

I like some elements of the movie (Jill St. John as Tiffany Case, Connery's nonchalance as Bond, the elevator fight scene, and believe it or not, Kidd and Wint as creepy henchmen), but I really don't go for some of the others (Charles Gray was the least interesting Blofeld in the series, the James Bond Playboy Club card--the first allusion that Bond is actually famous--and most of the stuff in Vegas). It's a very mixed bag. |

I saw all of the Dalton films in the theater. He was extremely acclaimed when the movies were released after Moore had well over-stayed his welcome! |
Re: Looking for James Bond information
Freakin' A, MGM, release the rest of the damn movies on Blu already!!!
