Amazon kinda-sorta matched FamilyVideo's pricing, lowering it to $19.99 (as opposed to $18.98 shipped at FV).

I don't know how I mis-typed that. Glad it helped regardless. I had ordered it for $18.99 got got FV to refund the difference when the price went down.

I have not seen any reviews on the Blu-ray - anyone know anything about the actual BD content - extras, quality of the transfer, etc?

Publisher may have forbidden reviews, but that can sometimes be a bad thing - lousy transfer, only extras are a film trailer...

it all depends on who gets cast as Lisbeth. If Kristen Stewart gets cast, i'm boycotting

I actually wish they put the interview the director did on Charlie Rose as an extra

I really don't think Stewart is that bad an actress outside of the Twilight movies.

But the infinitely better choice for the role is Carey Mulligan.

BTW, I love the Swedish film. Noomi Rapace is stunningly good.

She has been mentioned. I don't think there's a better choice.

Plus if you can transform her to what Lisbeth looks like...it'd be a good way for her act through the disguise.

I do. How about an unknown? I think Mulligan is a terrific actress. But I just can't see her pulling off this part.

come now...I think she could do it. Plus just cuz you can't see her doing it doesn't mean she can't do it. Whomever is chosen I trust Fincher to do his best.

Just finished watching this off Netflix and thought it was pretty good. Once the price hits $15 or lower, Ill pick it up.

Re: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo -- July 6th, 2010

I thought Noomi Rapace gave a great performance in the original film, but I think Carey Mulligan has the potential to look more like the Lisbeth I pictured while reading the book. Salander was described as a 26 year old easily mistaken for a 14 year old girl, and I didn't really believe that with Rapace. I would be interested to see what Mulligan could bring to the role.

I can't see her in the role at all. I think the perfect choice is Natalie Portman. She is literally the exact same body type as Lisbeth in the books (I've met her in-person), skinny as hell, under 5 feet tall, flat chest. Plus she can act & I'd love to see her do something so different. If not her I really hope they go with an unkown.
