Wow. This is depressing. If this is a snapshot of the business these days... the only thing that is of any quality here is South Park, which is a TV show. The movies have all become crappy 3D children's movies.

No wonder I hardly ever go to the movies anymore and tend to get more excited about shows on HBO/Showtime than any of the crap in the theatres.

I will definitely get this eventually but $24.99 for a basically barebones release of a catalogue title is absurd. I'm shocked how many people here are willing to instantly pay that price (I know it was $21 at some point, that is still too high).

I understand that...however, given the choice and factors involved, my preference for purchasing S12 is with the 4:3 ratio....

Your opinion.....based on the two comparison screen shots you posted, I think the framing on the first one looks more cramped in 16:9, while the second one still looks fine in 4:3 to me.....I'd rather have the sides missing from the second half episodes (which were composed with both ratios in mind) than have the tops and bottoms missing from the first half episodes (which were made 16:9 after the fact)....

In a perfect world, the first half of the season would be in 4:3 and second half would be in 16:9 on both DVD and BD (like Season 20 of The Simpsons did)....then there would be no argument....but they didn't, so you have to settle for one or the other (unless you feel like buying both, but personally I am not made out of money)...

The lack of people buying Breaking Bad makes me sad. One of the best shows on television PERIOD and with high rewatchability IMO. Getting both seasons along with South Park and White Stripes. Hated Princess & the Frog and thought Armored and Ninja Assassin were average at best.
