Also, should we have separate release threads for all of these now that they're official?
I thought the framing cut out that area unless I'm remembering incorrectly. I don't have easy access to the disc to check.

Titanic has been upgraded in iTunes for anyone with a digital copy. Good opportunity to check out the transfer in advance if considering the disc upgrade.

Miniature food menus? Who could resist!

The discs almost seem dwarfed by all that empty space throughout the box.

I donít see the upgrade in my library, does it take a while to load in? Sounds like some people got it a week ago.

I got Titanic today but will have to wait until tomorrow to see if the ship still sinks at the end.

I had used the digital code from the 3D blu ray set with iTunes that only provided SD. As they don't upgrade the SD copies, I looked and saw that the 4K on iTunes was $7.99. (this was a few weeks ago). So I bought it for that. I'll use the code from the 4K set, whenever I get around to getting it, on VUDU and then ensure we have it in both ecosystems as Paramount still hasn't joined MA (and likely never will).

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray

Jeff from Films at Home reviewed the new Titanic collector's set

He says for the current $135 price point, he can't recommend it. The discs are in hard to pull out cardboard sleeves and it's just a bunch of paper props inside. Not worth it. He says maybe for around $70.

Hopefully that relieves your FOMO for this expensive set.

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray

I was just saying it looked really cool from the unboxing videos but I can't afford it. Also from the Digital Bits review it says that some sets might be missing the digital copy code.
https://thedigitalbits.com/item/tita...5thle-uhd-2023
For those who’ve purchased the Titanic: 25th Anniversary Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD box set and are missing the Digital code slip, Paramount Home Entertainment has provided the following official statement:

“It has come to our attention that some copies of the Titanic Limited-Edition Collector’s Boxed Set do not include a Digital code. Consumers who purchased the set may request a Digital code by visiting the following website: https://support.paramountdigitalcopy...s/requests/new

“The replacement Digital code will be sent via email and will provide access to the feature film, as well as to the bonus features via the Apple TV app or Vudu. It is always our intention to distribute the highest quality product and we apologize for any inconvenience this error has caused.”

Thanks, that was my exact situation, the 3D redemption from 2010 or so. Luckily I also bought the standard BD a few months ago and was able to redeem it that way. Now I have both versions on Apple.

Anyway, I don't plan to pick up Titanic (regular edition) until it's below $20. I don't spend $30+ on 4K unless it's a boutique title that I really want.

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray

I just checked Titanic oh my Apple TV. It did upgrade into 4K. However, you get shafted on all the bonus content with this digital version. There are only 30 deleted scenes with an audio introduction from Cameron.

This digital was from the old Paramount BD that I redeemed a few years ago. I just never checked it.

If you love bonus material, the digital version is not the way to go.

FYI, for those who don’t buy physical media, the HD/4K digital copies of Aliens, True Lies and The Abyss are now available. The Abyss has both cuts.

$19.99 each.

and there are bonus features.

I watched the True Lies retrospective on MA last night, and while it has new interviews with Cameron and Arnold, the JLC and Paxton interviews were presumably from these sessions in 2012. FWIW, they don't mention Dushku by name, and she doesn't make an appearance, archive interview or otherwise, but it's a celebration of the movie, and I imagine her 2018 exposure of the stunt coordinator is probably not something they wanted to touch.

Do you know how long that extra feature was for True Lies?

Your quote says she filmed for the blu-ray. Probably the discs have exclusive extras. Gotta dangle that carrot.
