This is recurring theme, I love...
Love it!! I think I’ve seen the name. He should be more recognized like Horner or Zimmer. The Terminator is iconic! |

Yep, full screen, and looks like shit.

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
And I was looking forward to watching Abyss in HD.

Anyways, dumb question but was there ever a “open matte” 4x3 DVD released? If it’s the same as the laserdisc transfer that Cameron thought was okay, that might be a holdover solution. |
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
I'm glad I can watch True Lies again but this transfer looks awful.

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
True Lies and The Abyss (extended and regular cut) both recently aired on HBO less than 6 months ago and both have fine HD transfers.

Well, it wasn’t so much a laugh as a smirk but it was somewhere on the spectrum of amusement. |
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
James Cameron offers an update on his new scan/ and subsequent physical release of “The Abyss” Cameron: “Yeah, we finished the transfer and I wanted to do it myself because Mikael [Salomon] did such a beautiful job with the cinematography on that film. It is truly, truly gorgeous cinematography. [...] So I just recently finished the high-def transfer a couple of months ago so presumably there’ll be Blu-rays and it will stream with a proper transfer from now on. I appreciate what you said about the film. It didn’t make much money in its day, but it does seem to be well-liked over time.” Full interview: https://www.space.com/james-cameron-...book-exclusive |
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
Hope the meaning behind "Blu-rays" is regular and 4K.

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
 Oh, James Cameron. Such a funny guy.

There are people out here who would climb over all their fellow humans and step on each head to get to the front of the line to buy this on BD... :p |
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
I wonder if that’s what has taken so long - his perception that it’s not a fan favorite so he didn’t bother giving it any attention?
|
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
And now, it’s (eventual) BD release won’t even make a blip on the release charts. Great job, Cameron.
|
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
Since he’s only mentioning The Abyss I’m guessing he’s trying to pretend True Lies doesn’t exist anymore.
|
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
Looks like The Abyss is happening finally. in August

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
Is GeekGab reliable? Otherwise I hate when they add the word "tentatively." Day one for me.
|
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
If that’s true I’ll grab The Abyss.

Yeah…..we’ll see…..?

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
Yeah, I don't follow Twitter much but everything I've read about GeekGab is that they'll use basically anything as a source to try to be "first" to break release details and if they're right, they're right; if they're wrong, they can always go back and delete the tweet....kind of the broken clock is right two times a day mentality.
|
Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray
Serious question does Cameron pretend True Lies doesn't exist anymore?
