The Informant
Just picked this one up. I was pleased to find the following inside the case:
I am glad WB has decided to combine the DC with the DVD. Makes alot more sense this way.

...this way when The Informant has lackluster sales they can claim the combo is a failure

Warner has been doing that since the start of the year (The Final Destination). All titles now include a DVD and DC, and they are on the same disc.

When I picked the case up, it felt a little lighter. I hope the other studios start doing this. My track record on 3-disc Elite cases isn't too great, although the ones I've gotten lately seem to be more sturdy.

I actually miss the BD + DVD + DC as the case was perfect for custom cover art projects (all 3 Bournes in one case). Oh well.

Re: The Informant
A member on blu-ray.com bought their copy at Target and it was not the combo pack that I found at Best Buy. Sounds like WB is shipping both versions out at the same time. I found 3 at Best Buy, all with the slipcover and sticker advertising the combo version. Target and Walmart both had non-slips, so I'm guessing those are just 1-disc BD versions.

Previously though, they would send out only the Digital Copy versions first, then send new stock as non-DC versions. Now, they're sending out both at the same time. And they have seemed to quietly remove the "Digital Copy Special Edition" from their slipcover. I can see how individuals would be upset if on release day, they bought the non-combo pack.

The removal is interesting. Just a sticker?

Re: The Informant
The slipcover is actually what tells you whether or not you are getting the combo pack version....the versions without the DC/DVD do not come with a slipcover at all, and in fact, the package art underneath makes no mention of the digital copy (only the slipcover does)....
Fucking Watchmen: Ultimate Cut...

Re: The Informant
Warner has been doing this since the beginning (of them including digital copies and slipcovers indicating so with their initial releases of titles).....unfortunately Watchmen: Ultimate Cut is the very rare exception to this rule, due to the different/special way it is packaged and because it is a "limited pressing" where all copies made include the digital copy (and not just a first run pressing)...

Some Targets actually throw out the slipcovers.

Re: The Informant
That sucks, luckily mine do not do so (or use those stupid plastic security cases).....
There is another way you can tell if the DVD/DC is included (if they have thrown out the slipcover...feel the front cover of the case for a hub on the inside...

Re: The Informant
Yeah, it's pretty easy to tell if there's another disc inside. I would rather WB release only the combo packs for at least the first week. It sucks they're releasing the non-combo packs at the same time. And it's completely random since Walmart and Target I visited only had the 1-disc release. The Target I was in doesn't use the cases, so they don't throw them out. I'm wondering if maybe Best Buy is only getting the combo packs for this release and possibly others. I also saw The Box combo version at Best Buy. Can't remember if I saw that version at Target or Walmart.
