It does have the most explicit sex=death scene I've ever seen.

True. The film itself though is pure shit in my honest opinion and the Friday the 13th franchise is my favorite horror franchise. Jason Goes to Hell along with the remake are the worst entries in my opinion.

***NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT***
Good morning everyone. We start our month-long "Shocktober" celebration with a new title announcement (one of several this month). Actually, we have TWO films to reveal today that will be in a double-feature: The horror comedies LOVE AT FIRST BITE (with George Hamilton) and ONCE BITTEN (with Jim Carrey)! This is the first time on the Blu-ray format for both films and is expected to land near Valentine's Day 2015. No details on extras at this time.
Re: LOVE AT FIRST BITE - We are aware that prior DVD versions of the film were altered, specifically during a key moment in a disco in which the song "I Love the Nightlife" song (sung by Alicia Bridges) was replaced by another track. We are doing our best to correct this and will keep you posted on the progress.
Stay tuned this month for many more surprises!

I look forward to "Once Bitten". Never picked that up on DVD. I've actually never seen "Love At First Bite". Maybe I'll add that to my Horror Challenge To-Watch List.

Don't like the film but it does have one scene that I remember when they are in the shower that cracked me up when I first saw it almost 30 years ago.

"I Love the Night Life" is an essential part of LOVE AT FIRST BITE. I hope they get the rights to use it in the new version.

Shout seems to have a knack for getting music rights, so hopefully they can get them for this.

I thought the commentary to JGTH was funny, though.

I loved LOVE AT FIRST BITE as a kid. Richard Benjamin was never funnier, and Hamilton was firing on all cylinders. Plus a disco sequence. I'm in

The writer's story behind Once Bitten is nuts (and used to be pretty easy to find online, but seems to have disappeared from the internet) so it's be great if they could snag him for a commentary.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT***
Our month-long "Shocktober" celebration continues with yet another new reveal (one of several this month). Next Spring we will unleash the vengeance-filled cult favorite CLASS OF 1984 as a “Collector’s Edition” for the first time on the blu-ray format!
Although this is not a “horror film” in the true sense of the word we thought it was suitably violent, edgy and dark enough to warrant inclusion in the brand (Not to mention it has a strong following). The Director himself - Mark L. Lester - is very on board with this strategy as well. Those of you who love the film know what a gem it is and that it sports a great cast that includes Perry King (Mandingo, Riptide), Roddy McDowell (Fright Night, The Legend of Hell House), Lisa Langlois (Deadly Eyes, Happy Birthday to Me), Timothy Van Patten (The Sopranos) and even Michael J. Fox in an early role.
No details on extras at this time but they will be announced next year. Stay tuned for more surprises this month!

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENTS!***
Our month-long "Shocktober" celebration continues with THREE Films to reveal today to start your weekend off right!
- On Jan 13th, The sci-fi thriller SUPERNOVA makes its debut on the Blu-ray format. Check out the all-over-the-place cast of some well-known names and cult film favorites: James Spader (The Blacklist), Angela Bassett (American Horror Story) , Lou Diamond Phillips (La Bamba), Robert Forster (Jackie Brown), Peter Facinelli (Twilight), Wilson Cruz (My So-Called Life) and Robin Tunney (The Craft).
- In Feb, a blood-sucking double feature of guilty pleasures BLACULA and its sequel SCREAM, BLACULA SCREAM from the 70s will bare their fangs on blu-ray for the first time too in the U.S. and Canada. Both films star William Marshall as “Blacula” (and who also played “King of Cartoons” in Pee-wee’s Playhouse—out from Shout Factory on 10/21) and the legendary Pam Grier (Foxy Brown) is third-billed in SCREAM, BLACULA SCREAM.
Artwork you see here is final. There are no details on extras at this time but they will be announced before the end of the year.
Stay tuned for more surprises this month...including a killer sale beginning next week!

I mentioned it in the Arrow thread but thought people here would be interested. Arrow is coming to the U.S.

For those who are region-free and don't want to wait until February, Masters of Cinema is releasing their own Blacula/Scream Blacula Scream double-feature in a few weeks. I believe early reviews of the set have been pretty positive, but I have no idea if it'll be the same as Scream's edition.

Sweet. I've got Blacula and the sequel on DVD but will happily upgrade to Blu if there are some decent extras.

Two of my favorite films of all time coming 1/27

Can't help feeling my relief/joy at finally seeing these announced a bit dampened because it's Shout that is releasing them and not Criterion/TT/ or Kino Lorber...all of whom I would expect to do full justice to the transfers. Still, it will be nice to finally have an HD copy with the subs.

Wasn't Supernova butchered by producers? I seem to remember a story about that when it was released. I'd be interested to see it as intended.

Yep, that movie is a fascinating disaster.
