Tank Girl is a guilty pleasure for sure. That cover is pretty awesome to boot, I might get it...especially if I can snag it for under $20.

I didn't see it mentioned in the last few pages of the thread (Cat People HD DVD owner here ), but the front page of this forum mentioned that Luc Besson's The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec has just been released on BD. I had become interested in the comic a year or so ago when I heard about the film and how it hadn't been theatrically released in the U.S. I made a mental note of it and kind of figured I'd have to buy an import or something. Not that the trailer floored me or anything, but the buzz seemed pretty positive. But now that Shout has actually released it domestically, I think I'm going to have to suck it up and pay new-release prices for this one.

If you can, watch it beforehand. I was really disappointed with it. Luckily, when I watched it the Shout Factory bluray wasn't scheduled to be released yet. I would have blind bought it if I hadn't watched it.

It sucked, but I'll pick it up anyway just for the sake of having complete Besson. Didn't want to spend money importing.

Pretty much what ASh said. My media buying is so down that I don't mind occasionally getting something on principle (i.e., supporting the release of obscure and/or international films on BD). I do appreciate the input, though.

Shout said they're releasing the director's cut in October. I'll wait for that one.

I purposely grabbed a tiny image for mine. Not because of those large ones, but just because.

I've picked up quite a few from Wal-Mart here in Canada including most of the Roger Corman ones. Saw they had Lifeforce and The Howling on shelves recently.

The Town that Dreaded Sundown, which comes with The Evictors as a bonus (in SD) is currently $12.19 on Amazon.

I have always wanted to see this movie but I am wary of making blind buys. Is this worth the chance? (I hated Boggy Creek by the way and I hear that movie's name tossed around with this one from time to time.)

I loved it! I have a Hong Kong R3 DVD and have been waiting for a Region A Blu-Ray to crop up.

I really wish they would make this cover into a poster. I'd gladly hang it on my wall:

If you order directly from Shout! there is a strong possibility it will. I could be wrong, but I believe they have created and offered limited edition posters with purchase for each of the "collector's edition" Scream Factory titles.

What appears to be a press release stating that Shout! will be releasing a slew of Wener Herzog films was posted on another forum:

Shout! Factory and Werner Herzog Film GMBH announced an exclusive, multi-picture alliance to bring a coveted library of classic films by legendary writer/director/producer Werner Herzog, currently being re-mastered in high-definition for new edition releases in North America. The announcement was made today by Shout! Factory’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos, and filmmaker Werner Herzog.

This multi-year alliance provides Shout! Factory extensive rights to 16 highly sought-after Werner Herzog films and documentaries, including digital distribution, home video and broadcast for cross-platform releases. Award-winning and critically acclaimed features include FITZCARRALDO, AGUIRRE: THE WRATH OF GOD, NOSFERATU THE VAMPYRE, THE ENIGMA OF KASPAR HAUSER,WOYZECK, HEART OF GLASS, COBRA VERDE, STROSZEK, FATA MORGANA, LITTLE DIETER NEEDS TO FLY, LESSONS OF DARKNESS, BALLAD OF THE LITTLE SOLDIER, LAND OF SILENCE AND DARKNESS, as well as several other acclaimed titles.
