Absolutely love Event Horizon. If the transfer is a large upgrade, I'll probably pick it up.

Sad that the cut footage from the film was destroyed

Wasn’t there a problem with the picture when it was first or second released on DVD?

Yup. On the DVD re-release and on the initial Blu-Ray release.

The picture is stretched vertically on a few scenes if I'm not mistaken.

The Hills Run Red comes on BD tomorrow.

The Producer of the movie, Robert Meyer Burnett, said that he produced 6 1/2 hours of new extras for it.

I did buy The Hills run Red to support Mr. Burnett since I watch his YouTube show. But damn, 29 bucks after taxes for an 81 min B movie is pricey. Luckily he did produce a lot of bonus content to help alleviate that.

The Event Horizon release has been postponed to January 5, 2021. I'm guessing they are still trying to put extras together.

Be nice if they could scrounge up some unused footage, or even put together a directors cut/unrated cut of Event Horizon.

They posted on Facebook they needed more time to put together the disc due to COVID restrictions. Maybe that gives them more time to try and find the lost footage.

And another problem is that you cannot do one on one interviews right now due to social distancing. So it must be challenging for Shout to even try to schedule any interviews. They would have to probably be done on Zoom or Skype.

One of my favorites. No word on extras or if it's from a new scan, though.

I mentioned it earlier on this page but I had read the 30-minutes of cut footage were destroyed, due to being thrown away or badly stored. I believe the footage initially was said to have been stored in a salt mine when the 2006 Special Edition of the film was being put together.

In this article, Shout Factory definitely states they are looking for it (which is stated in the Press Release of this BD):

"As for any much-inquired-about additional footage, we are looking into it as best we can," stated the press release from Scream Factory. "We welcome any leads you may have alongside our efforts."

It's very unlikely that Shout Factory finds the missing footage. It was heavily rumored the footage was destroyed by accident years ago.

I agree, they've been looking for the footage for quite a while and a lot of articles & interviews with Anderson mention it being destroyed.

I only posted that information in response to Josh-da-man mentioning that a Director's Cut should be assembled for this release.

Thanks. I finally went ahead and picked up Ninja III.

I thought about Futureworld but I seem to remember it being pretty dull the last time I saw it.

Might grab Death Wish II. I have Ninja III: The Domination, but it’s the first edition and not the collector’s edition. Nothing else on that list I really want.

Event Horizon has been delayed to January 5, 2021.

I noticed the date change on my Amazon order and the Shout Factory page confirms it.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

Some Walmart’s are carrying more Scream Factory titles. I believe Escape From New York is one I've seen. That’s the main one I’m looking for. Maybe Manhunter and I might consider upgrading Carrie (I have the bare bones release).

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I never upgraded Texas chainsaw massacre 2 from the older MGM Blu-ray, which I thought looks great anyways and it has that long documentary.

I've already got Carrie and Manhunter which are really good additions if you guys are big fans of those movies.

It looks like Warner Bros is handling MGMs catalog films from here on out, so there's a good chance these might come back in print in the future since Shout Factory does licensing with Warner Bros now.
