I remember liking Doctor Detroit as a kid but looking back on it 1. A kid probably shouldn’t have been watching a movie about rival pimps and 2. It was a pretty weird fucking movie.

I have never heard of Doctor Detroit, so I looked it up on IMDb. It Says Dan Aykroyd is a pimp, is it a Sex comedy? Can Shout get a hold of Exit to Eden? I would buy that movie for sure.

I have seen it, I remember Dana Delaney was naked throughout the movie.

I always liked Doctor Detroit when I was a kid, although I've always tended to like bad movies. This is not a reason to buy this, but I also liked how the villain in DD was played by Kate Murtaugh, who might be best known for being the waitress on the cover of Supertramp's "Breakfast in America" album.

Looks like they ported over all but one of Arrow's UK supplements for this (the version comparison) and added the new interviews and still galleries. Not a bad alternative.

Yep, I'll be picking it up now that it's confirmed it has all the extras. I can live about that one.

Why can't we have Lost Highway instead?

Apparently it's free shipping for all orders over $50 for now on. 3 blu rays should get you over that threshold.

Agreed, my Twilight Time copy of Wild at Heart is just peachy, no need to upgrade whatsoever. Also, that "newly commissioned" art is horrid. My German edition of Lost Highway is much more in need of an upgrade. My guess is Shout saw how quickly WAH sold out at TT and figured they would latch on to that.

Definitely in for Wild At Heart. Glad I held out in not buying that TT release. Just kinda bummed Criterion didn't get their hands on it. Hopefully they can score Lost Highway.

That artwork is pretty terrible. I've got the Twilight Time release but may pick this up if the extras are compelling enough.

Bring on Lost Highway! I'd much rather see that announcement.

The new Burbs CE is currently $14.99 on Amazon. I don't know how long it will last, but worth a preorder.

So much good stuff on Scream Factory's release slate right now: the It's Alive! trilogy, Of Unknown Origin (!), Dr. Blood's Coffin, The Vampire and the Ballerina, The House That Dripped Blood...

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

We finished watching a back to back of Shout's releases of Buckaroo Banzai and Streets of Fire from last night to this morning. We even watched the 2 hour Buckaroo doc and a good part of the first doc on Streets. Two really good movies that were overlooked during their time. They both had great characters and music, especially Streets of Fire's music.

Be aware that the two feature-length documentaries on the Streets of Fire disc are largely redundant to one another. One was produced by Second Sight in the UK in 2013 and the other by Shout Factory in 2017. A lot of the same people are interviewed and tell the same stories.

I'm not going to say you shouldn't watch both (they do each have some unique content), but it's good to keep this in mind before diving into the second one.

If I was to watch just one (or watch one first), which one should I watch?

I just re-watched Streets of Fire a week ago and was going to check out at least one of the documentaries.

I'd just watch the movie again like I did yesterday. It kicks ass! I also ordered the soundtrack. I can't believe how many people don't know about this movie.
