Warner DoublePacks 2/23/10: “Analyze This/Analyze That” and more
Warner Home Video is also launching the industry’s first line of Blu-ray Double Features, priced at $24.98 (SRP). Beginning February 23, the attractively packaged and entry-level priced Blu-ray Double Features pack will include a pair of well-matched catalog hits spanning multiple genres – comedy, action, drama/thriller and horror. The first wave will include “Dirty Harry” and “Magnum Force” starring Clint Eastwood; “Analyze This” and “Analyze That” starring Billy Crystal and Robert De Niro; “Presumed Innocent” and “Frantic” starring Harrison Ford; “Miss Congeniality” and “Miss Congeniality 2” starring Sandra Bullock; and Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men starring Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon.

Oh, and apparently all Theatrical BD titles will now include a DVD/DC (some do...but some are just DC like The Hangover)

What self respecting Dirty Harry fan doesn't already have the boxset (or at least the individual titles sans Dead Pool)?

I already have Grumpy Old Men. The question is whether WB will release Grumpier Old Men separately.
Analyze This and Analyze That are also of interest. I wonder if these will be two movies on a single blu-ray or two blu-rays in a single case?

Great, more gimmcks.
I want Analyze This, but have no need for Analyze That. Unless they're in separate cases count me out.

Or they could release them separately with LG's catalog prices, which are $5 lower. Ive never seen the sequel and have no desire to as I heard it was pretty bad.(I could barely get thru the preview if I recall) I suppose I could print my own cover if they do some horrible split cover art. I just don't like all the extra crap we're getting nowadays...I'd prefer to just have one or two discs for a movie in a standard case and that's it. That's just how I am.

Hmmm.... none of these sound that appealing. I may bite on the Presumed Innocent/ Frantic one at some point though.

1 disc, 1 case, 1 movie, lower price. Seems reasonable to me, but I won't upgrade for a bonus that is no bonus at all imo.
Analyze This isn't, by any means, one of the dvds that I've been really looking forward to upgrade, but if it had been a single release at a low price, I'm sure that I would have.
This news and the news that Pride and Prejudice will likely be a two-sided disc isn't the kind of news I was hoping for in 2010.

And technically, that should be Frantic/Presumed Innocent. But I guess giving the top spot to Polanski was out of the question.

Definitely in for Frantic/Presumed Innocent. And yes, I hope they release Grumpier Old Men separately.

I have an 16:9 import of Frantic, but I'll definitely pick up the combo so I'm no longer limited to my crappy all-region DVD player with PAL speedup.

I hope these combo packs mean we'll see a lot more catalog titles that badly need a widescreen version. Maybe WB will finally make up for all those pan-and-scan releases.
I'd pick up the Presumed Innocent/Frantic and Grumpy/Grumpier packs.

If I can get the GOM double-pack for cheap, I'll purchase it; but that's the only release out of this first wave that even remotely interests me.
