Music concerts on Blu-ray?

Just about every review, except for a handful, at DVDTalk have been negative. Are they all really that bad? Anything upcoming of note? I am more interested in 60s,70s and 80s performers. Any websites that specialize in reviewing music on dvd or Blu-ray?

I have Linkin Park: Road to Revolution and it looks and sounds fantastic. I think it’s still a Best Buy exclusive though.

Re: Music concerts on Blu-ray?

I own The Police - Certified, Stevie Wonder Live, Elton 60, Roy Orbison Black & White Night and Foo Fighters live at Wembley

The Police - Certified is without a doubt one of the premier Blu-Ray demo discs on the market. Excellent video and audio quality. The documentary on the Blu-Ray is excellent as well if you're into content!

Iron Maiden - Flight 666 is the only one I have and I think it looks and sounds good.

Re: Music concerts on Blu-ray?

I know these are not 60's through 80's, but Nine Inch Nails - Beside You In Time, AC/DC Live at Donnington, and Shakira Oral Fixation Tour are all have great audio and visual. Shakira in hi def is just nice to look at in general. And of course AC/DC is 70's-80's.

I'm curious about the Rush live BD (R30). If anyone has that, if they can chime in on how that one is.

Within Temptation - Black Symphony is excellent but import only.

Nine Inch Nails - Live Beside You In Time is another good one.

I just for the Foo Fighters Wembley disc but haven't seen it yet.

I own Roy Orbison's Black and White Night and highly recommend it.

4 and a half stars on audio and video from DVDTalk's Blu-ray review:

I too, own Police: Certifiable and just the menu screen on that sounds crazy already. I also own the 2-disc BD of Jewel and that's not too bad either.

I'm looking forward to checking it out.

The only other one I have is Dave Matthews at Radio City, which also looks and sounds great. I don't want to go overboard with the concerts, but it's nice to have a few to throw in on occasion.

Re: Music concerts on Blu-ray?

all of the SOUNDSTAGE series blu-rays are amazing video/audio quality...i believe they're a SEARS exclusive however but they're only $10 a piece. i picked up the TOM PETTY one a couple months ago and it's fantastic.

Not quite what you are looking for but Cinema Squid can be used to find reviews sorted by categories. The music category probably won't find them all but it is a start anyway.

Re: Music concerts on Blu-ray?

I have the Justin Timberlake and NIN concerts (yes, I like different types of music). Both have great picture and audio.
Hopefully gonna get the Live in London George Michael BD for Christmas.

I just saw this on HD Net just last week and his set and screens were AMAZING! I hated the way he changed the productions for most of the songs live though. Some were slowed way down, different arrangements. I hate it when bands/artists do that.

I second the NIN recommendation. Real nice audio/video quality and their stage show is impressive.

For an older concert, the Queen blu-ray is well done.
