Praying for all the extras to be ported over, and for SteelBooks.

Re: Toy Story 1 and 2 03/23/2010

I was expecting these would be released in time for Toy Story 3. I can't imagine they wouldn't put all of the extras on the blu given Pixar's history of great blu-rays.

If they put Nemo out in November (probably the same day as TS3), that would probably mean Incredibles will come out in March 2011 since it's the only one left.

Amazon- You are signed up to receive an e-mail from us when this item is available.

Man, I love that notification stuff. Then you can pre-order it and hopefully, and most likely, it goes to a nice cheaper price than it eventually ends up with.

Will pre-order soon
Plus, i'm pretty sure they'll be region free such as A Bug's Life & Monsters Inc., since they're Disney's catalog's titles !

I don't suppose there's a press release anywhere listing ALL of the bonus features rather than just the NEW bonus features? I'm wondering if it's cool to unload my Toy Box and 2-disc sets while they'd still net me around $60 total.

DVD Beaver on Toy Story:
My first impressions were that, of the 900+ Blu-rays I own, Toy Story is quite possibly the most impressive looking and sounding.

Glad to see the Audio Commentary is on there... that was the only thing I was worried about losing, really.

I'd say hock your Toy Box... I did (for ~$70 two months ago). If you've got the Wall-E disc, you've already got the definitive Pixar documentary (The Pixar Story... in HD!).

I can't wait to get these. Unfortunately, I missed out on seeing the double feature in theaters.

This had me worried as well, as it wouldn't be normal for Disney to drop the previous bonus features for catalog Pixar titles (judging by what they did with Cars, A Bugs Life, and Monsters Inc)....but go check out those DVD Beaver screencaps of the BD menu screens for TS....thankfully there is a whole section labeled "Classic DVD Bonus Features"!
Really glad to have confirmation of this, since, as you stated, all the prior press about it only made mention of the new bonus features and nothing was said about carrying over the older ones....

Re: Toy Story 1 and 2 03/23/2010

while the specs in the review state it's DTS-ES (6.1) sound, its too bad that in the write up that Gary Tooze didn't elaborate on the surround channels - I've upgraded to 6.1 recently and rewatched the DVD - the three channels in the rear are incredible with alot of sound cues coming directly behind you - notably in the 'crossing the street' scene.

I gather none of the new animation for the recent theatrical double feature did not wound up on either 1 or 2's bluray edition

Well, that's reassuring, although specifically, when I say "all", I mean from both the 2-discs (which appear to be covered) AND the Ultimate Toy Box (which may or may not be).

I'm assuming Pixar has some say in how their titles are handled on video, thus why we've seen all Pixar BD releases up to this point carry all of the previous extras alongside additional extras.

From what I've heard, I think there's going to be $5 (printable) coupons for each movie and then possibly $10 off when you buy both titles. YMMV on getting all 3 coupons applied though.

From the Future Shop forums, Brana the buyer for FS said the following.

$5.00 off of each TS blu, and then there is a coupon on the package to save an additional $10 when you buy both, so $20 off total.

FS will probably honor this...but obviously it's always YMMV based on the rep you get, regardless of it being FS or somewhere in the U.S.
