close to about 40% if you count red2blu. (The only DVD -> Blu upgrades I own are Dark City and Donnie Darko, I do want to pick up Fight Club though.)

Re: What percentage of your blu-ray's are double-dips?
A little less then 1%....so far, I have only double dipped on 4 titles out of the 400+ BDs I have: X-men 3, Terminator 2, Casino Royale and Rocky Balboa (because it came in the Rocky box set)....
Of course, my definition of "double-dipping" is re-purchasing the same title in the same format....buying a BD version when you only had the previous film on DVD is what I call an "upgrade", not a double dip....I have upgraded a TON of my DVDs, probably about half of my BDs are such....

I'll lump upgrades and double-dips together; let's see... 89/182 = ~49%. I actually expected it to be a tad bit higher.

Just about 2/3 of my BD's are double dips from DVD and/or HD DVD. (About 430 of 649).
The good news is, I really can't imagine what would make me upgrade any of them again.

But this is the interwebz! Splitting hairs is what it's all about!

I'm so stubborn, I even refuse to consider BD purchases "double dips" if I have the title on HD DVD, even though they are both high def....it is not the same format!!

(I'm getting lossless audio or more special features, hence: an upgrade!)

Probably just under half. I stopped buying DVD long before I upgraded to Blu. So the only double dips I have are those that were released at the time when I wasn't even aware of the possibility of having to upgrade again.

Counting the box sets as 1 and not including HD-DVD since the title asked for Blu-ray; it's 46 out of 123 so roughly 35%. The titles I've double dipped on have either been movies that were first generation crap discs, the Blu-ray was on sale at a price low enough to make it worthwhile or a movie that I love and have to have the best possible presentation. I also left out any movies I had on DVD-r and upgraded.

Re: What percentage of your blu-ray's are double-dips?
I just got a player recently, I'm trying not to double dip and for a lot of titles I don't understand why people double dip (comedies, for example) it makes no sense to me, but to each his own. It also pains me to see people sell of their entire DVD collection to switch to blu, that seems so crazy, I can't imagine spending all this time piecing together a collection of films just to sell it off, but again, to each their own.
The title I have double dipped on thus far is Ragging Bull - but I just ordered Rio Bravo and Every Which way but Loose - which are both double dips - to get rid of the damn snappers.

I'm with bse. 0%. Don't see the need to double dip if I already own it. I did buy 2 titles (A Time To Kill & Pelican Brief) that I owned but lost in Hurricane Charley. Never replaced them because I just couldn't stand the flipper discs. I will double dip on those titles I own that aren't anamorphic like the Abyss. Otherwise the upconverted dvds are fine. 100% of all new purchases are blu.

Actual double-dips — of which there have been few released thus far — 0%.
Upgrades from DVD: 36%. This number would be higher if 1) more of my DVDs had been released in Blu and 2) if the Blu version had come down in price or been otherwise a "better" release. I would replace every DVD in my collection if a Blu version was significantly better than the DVD and affordable (

More than I expected. I don't have an exact number. Stuff like DD's $35 deal for The Prisoner don't make it easy NOT to upgrade. I barely resisted when I saw Sopranos S1 for $38 at Wal Mart last week.
