Even though I love this movie and will love to have it on Blu, I'll wait for a lesser price. My backlog is overwhelming right now and I still have Boogie Nights on SD.

I'm worried that they're going to DNR the shit out of it, or otherwise fuck the transfer up.

I'd be shocked if that happens as I know for a fact that PTA supervised the transfer...

In terms of extras, looks like everything was ported over: PTA commentary, cast commentary, deleted scenes, Michael Penn video, The John C. Reilly Files and the trailer.

I'll wait for it to drop in price as well. Probably pick it up when Magnolia is released in January

The only thing missing is the hidden color bars feature which, many will recall, ends amusingly. Also missing the text biographies and the note from PTA. Shame getting rid of that groovy 70's DVD packaging, but better PQ trumps all I suppose.

Was this supposed to be a digibook? My Best Buy has digibook under the sign.

Any reviews for this yet?

I do want to get it. But I know it will probably be $18.99 at Amazon.

Haha, I actually put the Blu-Ray in the DVD case and dumped the blu packaging.

Too bad that they didn't include the documentary on John Holmes from the first Boogie Nights release.

No real reviews, but someone gives a quick impression of it on AVS - along with some screenshots:

Re: Boogie Nights ---> 12/15/09? - (Best Buy exclusive?)

Bought this yesterday, watched it last night. I'm a huge fan of the film, it's in my top 10 off all-time, so shelling out $25 for this was easily worth it. The 2-disc DVD looks like dogshit compared to the Blu. This might not be quite as eye-popping as I was hoping, but it's def a quality hi-def image. Much sharper than the standard, better colors, more depth. Audio didn't blow me away, but it's an improvement. I was very pleased.

These are not the screenshots I was looking for.

Never saw this movie, but interested because apparently, it's a good one.

So will surely take a look in January

I have both dvd releases and neither has the John Holmes documentary. The only home video release that included that doc was the Criterion laserdisc but even it was not the fully length doc, just certain segments...

It was the first printing of the film Wonderland that had the Holmes documentary.

I kind of figured Best Buy would release Boogie Nights AND Magnolia early. Just like they did with Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Oh well.

Anybody see Magnolia early at Best Buy by chance?

The 'Wadd' documentary is different from the cut-down version of 'Exhausted' that appeared on the Criterion 'Boogie Nights' laserdisc and was supposed to appear on the New Line DVD reissue.

I bought this from Best Buy tonight. I was kinda disappointed by the packaging. I mean they have so many shitty movies that have nice slipcovers and this one is so plain. But as they say, it's on the inside that counts.

Well, maybe WB will do with they did with Gremlins and add the slipcover when it hits the other stores.

Watching this movie now... this seriously has to be the first time I noticed that Dirk's Corvette is orange and not red. It is supposed to be orange, right?

So...when is this going to be released in regular NON BB circulation? I seriously don't feel like paying $24.99, as much as I do love the film.
