This review explains the PQ quite well. That is, it's not reference material by any means, but it gets the job done. I don't think it has anything to do with how much content is on the disc, though.

Has anyone noticed that Park shot a movie using only the iPhone.

This was $27 at Futureshop during the after-Christmas sales up here, and $19.99 on Amazon.ca. While those may seem like rare deals, many Alliance titles (even boxed sets) usually drop considerably in price within the first year. I tend to think this is because the supply often outweighs the demand, but I could be wrong. Either way, those in no big rush for this set will likely see much more reasonable prices later in the year.

Apparently they're taking a really long time to get back to people.

This was last week, and I'm still waiting on it. The tracking # they gave me has yet to show any activity.

I emailed three times and actually called their offices twice over the last month about the Oldboy replacement. Finally today they respond to my first email without being helpful. This company seems to care not at all about actually making customers happy.

Me too. I definitely don't have the receipt anymore so the best I can do is take a pic of the set with a hand written sign with my email address with it so they know its not a generic pic...
If that isn't good enough I'll be kinda pissed.

I got that same email too. I'm anal about keeping receipts, so I still have my copy of the receipt in the tin.

I got a response from them today. They accepted my pic and asked for my mailing address to send out the disc.

To those that are getting email responses from Tartan, which area did you email? I shot an email to the "customer support" section about a month ago and have heard nothing from them. I went back to their site today to try and send an email to one of the other divisions, but now their fucking site is down.

I got my replacement from them today... to my surprise it was a sealed blu ray of the standalone release of Oldboy, with a apology/thank you letter in the package. I was expecting a disc in a paper sleeve, not a brand new full package. It may have taken a while and isn't a perfect solution but I'll give props to Palisades Tartan.
A head's up that mine does have a slash through the UPC so it won't be returnable to a store. Still easily sellable/tradeable. If you want to go that root.

Received my bluray from them today. Was there a re-issue of the original bluray of Oldboy? I have the first release, the version in the collection and the one I just received.
At the top of the original it said "Tartan Asia Extreme" on the new one it says " Palisades Tartan Asia Extreme. The artwork looks faded, like it was printed out and then re-wrapped.

Can someone please provide an e-mail address that they used for this exchange? www.tartanvideo.com has been down for a long time, and I tried [email protected] with no response. Thanks.

Same issues here. Mark stepped up and correspondence has been moving smoothly again. My set came with two Mr. V's, and no Lady V., and of course the non-DTS Oldboy... Mark is working it out -- Oldboy shipped (so he said yesterday) and, as Lady V. is not kept on-site, he's tracking it down and it should ship soon. Pretty wild how long this has taken, but we seem to be on the right track now.

I wrote to them more than a month ago (2/14 to be precise). No response. Sent it to their [email protected] email address.

I just found my 2 receipts: 3/18/10 and 3/29/10. Should I scanned with original or pricematch?

Got my replacement last week. Mark from Tartan handled it for me. I just forwarded my Paypal e-receipt as proof-of-purchase.

Based on your follow up I've decided to contact Mark today and see how things go. Quick question though ...did you receive any email updates during the process or did the replacement disc just arrive randomly two months later since your request? Thanks.

The only bad thing is there is a slash through the barcode. Doesn't bother me much as I plan on moving the discs to another case once I find a spare 3-disc blu-ray case.
