Digital copies are still worthless to me, but including the SD-DVD is nice. That said, I don't see why they don't create special discs for the Blus that are SD-DVDs that both contain the movie and no bonus features and the digital copy. There should be enough room on the disc, shouldn't there?

My original plan was to pick up the remainder of the films on DVD when the price dropped and then pick up the big Blu-ray set when all 8 movies are finished.
This release kind of throws a wrench in those plans... but not in a bad way.

Who says the DVD will have no extras? The standerd DVD mentioned in the first post comes with the BD{it's a "Combo Pack" after all}. That doesn't mean the DVD won't have anything{not to mention the HP DVDs never had any noteworthy extras anyway}.

Wait... I don't know if I'm getting this right.
There isn't going to be a DVD version and a Blu-ray version? Just a single release that contains both a DVD, Blu-ray and digital copy?

There WILL be a DVD edition you can buy seperetly{I'm sure WB will do the Single Disc/Two Disc SE they did with OOTP}, just the Blu-Ray will be a combo pack.

question: 'Wizard Wheezes' a musical cue that is stated on the back of the CD as being not in the final cut of the film, is that a scene actually deleted or just an unused audio cue? As Jedi Master 33 asked - I'm also curious to know if this is an expanded version of the film, or is that being withheld until a future 'Ultimate Edition' is/will be released?

This is how blurays should work, I'm pissed about the Terminator thing, but if that bluray included a DVD version I would be fine. All blurays should include a DVD, Disney must have been selling a ton of Blu's recently, because now Warner is doing the same thing

I personally think this will only happen with movies that appeal to the kids the same (if not more) than to collectors/parents. Otherwise "Adventureland" and "The Proposal" should be getting a DVD copy as well because they are both disney titles priced at $44.xx, but alas they are just the film and digital copy.

Disney upped MSRP to add in a 'bonus' DVD and sometimes a DC. Its typically only for their kid films. Same can be said for most Warner titles as well (kid films).

Re: Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince --> Dec. 8th!
just saw the package pics posted on dvdactive:
http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releas...od-prince.html
in this case they are also releasing a 2disc special edition with slipsleeve, so i guess they still can if they WANT to!
warner probably thought terminator was too much of a stinker to release
an extra special edition
or maybe they figured harry potter is more of a dvd seller!?
i definitely don`t want to get another warner discussion going, i am fine
with the fact that movies like four christmases are only receiving barebone
dvds and must even compliment warner for the fact that their
widescreen/fullscreen releases are now no longer flippers (17 again, observe and report, etc.)!
i am however still upset that they withheld the 3 minutes of the directors cut
for terminator to dvd customers
it worked fine with the friday the 13th extended cut and really wouldn`t have hurt there either.
i am not a harry potter fan, but am glad to see that they are trying to cater
to all customer tastes with this release!

I Just wanna say suck it to the people who falsely posted that the DVD release would be barebones. They obviously had no clue what they were talking about!

Single disc art is fine. The new HP logo seems like the way they're going from now on. But they could've limited to the EE's like SS and COS. Hopefully we'll have a Widescreen Edition bar at the top.
2-Disc kinda sucks. HBP didn't really have a good poster campaign, but they could've done better. Blu-Ray art better be like 1 disc.

Warner may have been on the fence since the previous 5 films were released with Special Features and by not doing it here, could potentially hurt their previous (and future) HP DVD Sales. When you actually have studio contacts you can make comments.
Where are the specs? The 2 disc could just be the movie along with a Digital Copy
