Re: UP (blu-ray/dvd/digital copy) 11/10

If Disney emailed out the Snow White coupon around Sept 2 and its release date was Oct 6, they would have sent a coupon out for Up by now.

Sigh...I hope Toys R Us has a great deal!

Just a question, but why would Disney have a coupon for UP? The coupon for Snow White was an upgrade coupon for the previous standard dvd.

They had coupons for "Bolt" and have had coupons for other first-time releases as well. Generally in $5 and $10 denominations.

But has there ever been a coupon on a Pixar first-time release?

how do you figure that? if it ever does get to the point where i want to resell it i will still have the original case and iam not tossing the guts of the steelbook it will pop back on just as easy as it popped off.
because they made this thing so cheaply.

You're definitely going to hurt the resale value when you go trade this in for the 3D 4k Red-ray Diamond Platinum Super Special Edition that will eventually come out down the road.

ouch sucks about your finger, on my snow white it popped out pretty easily. i did start from the plastic at the top inner corner closest to the spine.

all i was gettting at is why be so mean spirited in your comment. and obviously there are others on here who dont agree with you about it not looking nice on here, if you sample some of the posts made since i posted it.

as i said i just merely posted a picture of something i happened upon when i discoverd how cheap my up case actually was put togeather. and for me it looks fine and gives me space for 2 more blurays on my shelf.

and finnally did you even notice the pictures i posted of how the the steel covering seperated from the inner plastic the very first time i opened the case, perhaps if the case had not been so poorly constructed i wouldnt have even discoverd you could convert it into a thiner case.

i guess i just can't believe about much complaining there has been about a free steelbook.

and really, the spine on that mod of yours does look terrible.

My BB still has no steelbooks. I'm thinking of just ordering it online. Did anybody have trouble getting the Snow White steelbook when they ordered online?

I just received my Snow White BD from Amazon, and I have to admit, I think the original packaging is better than the steelbook, so I don't intend to get the Up steelbook.

Just curious, did you check the endcaps? I thought I had come up empy when I checked the BB here but eventually found that they had put them all on one of the endcaps instead of at least putting some in the DVD/Blu-Ray sections.

Re: UP (blu-ray/dvd/digital copy) 11/10

I don't understand something - both the DVDBeaver and blu-ray.com reviews state that the dubs are Dolby Digital EX sound - which is essntially 6.1 sound (matrixed). The Beaver review states the DTS-HD MA track has a DTS core of DTS-ES again with a matrixed center rear channel

"DTS-HD Master Audio English 4035 kbps 5.1 / 48 kHz / 4035 kbps / 24-bit (DTS Core: 5.1-ES / 48 kHz / 1509 kbps / 24-bit)" isn't DTS-5.1 ES technically 6.1 channels of sound

- so why didn't Disney/Pixar just go all out and state/advertise the bluray is in fact DTS-ES 6.1 instead of DTS-HD MA 5.1?

Re: UP (blu-ray/dvd/digital copy) 11/10

Maybe they would only do that if there are 6.1 discrete channels.

Re: UP (blu-ray/dvd/digital copy) 11/10

I know this is a bad comparison, but Fox denotes ES tracks with their 5.1 graphic denoting a matrixed center surround channel with a non solid center square in the rear channels. It's too bad, the trend is towards mixing blurays to 7.1 but 6.1 mixes are going by the wayside.

Re: UP (blu-ray/dvd/digital copy) 11/10

So Amazon took it down and Overstock is pre-sold out. But for anyone that might be seeing LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS $$$ about some accidentally-released rarity, to follow up THIS post, the suit has been settled and this should come out as planned. Expect to see it back up on Amazon and at B&M retailers.
