I am IN for this steelbook, but I'm not looking foward to:
"Oh that comes out on Tuesday."
"But it says WHEN you pre-order."
"Oh.." *reads paper* "this means you get it when the movie comes out."
and rinse and repeat

Sweet steelbook! I can't wait. Snow White was not a good enough incentive for me to get the steelbook for, but Up got me hooked!
I hope Best Buy will create steelbooks for all of the Pixar films. Even if that does not happen, Up will still look nice in that thing.

i'm not sure how that is a SteelBook™. it looks more like a tin case. what is that middle made up of? 4-discs should have fit easily in a normal sized, even Blu-ray book. not sure exactly what this is.

I'm in for the steelbook. I've preordered from Amazon, but if Best Buy comes in under $27 and/or coupons or combo deals with Cars/Monsters, Inc I'll cancel my preorder.

That lamp's crazy. 200 bucks?
Preorder for BD/4 disk on Amazon 27.99.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...=nosim/dvdtalk
I'm tempted to preorder it just to lock in that price. I guess I need a BD player. Then again, it is hard to pay 28 bucks for one movie, and while I like the flexibility of BD and DVD, it's not often that I watch a movie more than once.
And put me in the 'hate digital copy' column.

27.99 really isn't that great. I'm willing to bet TRU will offer Up and Monsters Inc at 20 apiece or less if you buy them together.

What the fuck is the deal with that "SteelBook"? If it's really that gigantic, and the Canadian one is normal sized, I may have to import. That's ridiculous.

Luxo sues Disney over hopping desk-lamp character
September 4, 2009 | 4:26 pm
"Luxo Jr.," the squeaky desk-lamp character created by John Lasseter more than two decades ago, is in the spotlight again -- this time under the glare of a transatlantic lawsuit.
The hopping swivel lamp has been a corporate mascot for Pixar Animation Studios since its founder created the character in 1986 for a short computer-animated movie that was nominated for an Academy Award. Lasseter was said to have based the character on his own Luxo lamp.
But Norwegian lamp maker Luxo isn't happy with how Pixar and its parent company, Walt Disney Co., are using its name.
Luxo filed a lawsuit yesterday in New York federal court against Pixar and Disney accusing the companies of infringing on its copyright by selling a limited-edition "Luxo Jr." lamp packaged with a Blu-ray version of the Disney-Pixar "Up." The complaint also cites a new attraction at Walt Disney World that is a six-foot animatronic version of the lamp.
Oslo-based Luxo said in the complaint that the Luxo name hadn't been used on Pixar and Disney products until now and that sale of the Pixar lamps would "cause devastating damage to Luxo and dilute the goodwill which Luxo has built up." The company, in business since 1939, says more than 25 million of the lamps have been sold.
A spokesman for Disney said the company had not seen the complaint and could not comment.

I wonder if it will ever come out, and if Amazon has cancelled existing pre-orders or is just not taking more until this is resolved.

I'm not sure if they pulled it or if they just stopped taking orders temporarily, as it says "Sign up to be notified when available."
The $150 MODERN WARFARE 2 edition had similarly stopped having pre-orders taken for a few weeks, but has started again.

Well I would prefer a smaller steelie as well but if this comes in around $25 or so by buying at BB US vs the $40+ importing from Canada I'll live with the wider case.

Iam having a lot of fun still exploring the special features on snow white, i am really likeing that they have included a good number of classic short walt disney animated cartoons in the hyperion studios section.
I sold my walt disney treasures collection dvds years back when i got rid of my standard dvd library so its nice to have a handful of these cartoons again.
