Re: Star Trek: Nov 17
quite a few long time trek fans were quite happy that the prequel comics were done by kurtzman and oraci because it helped to aliviate fears that our beloved 40 plus years of history was just going to be forgotten and rebooted.
personally i loved the prequal comics if for no other reason than to see the fates of Picard, Data, etc

I personally like the way Worf in TNG explained the difference in the look of Klingon outfits from the original series to their newer look.

This is a totally flawless transfer that has some desirable depth of field, shows a sturdiness through the thick image, limited gloss, is spotlessly clean, and has not even a hint of boosting, DNR, moiring or edge-enhancements - at all. The CG work is seamless. It is perfect and may very well be the best looking Blu-ray of the entire year.

Re: Star Trek: Nov 17
When I saw that 1st epic sequence w/ the USS Kelvin I knew that this was a film that could only be as amazing as it is on screen...Blu could do it. I love that whole intro sequence. Just..epic. This was the 1st Trek film I've ever seen in theater but damn did it blow my and many of my friends expectations of what a ST can do. It didn't feel cluttered by what publicly made ST a hassle to get into. I loved it. I liked some of the previous ones, respect the worlds and characters that I've come to know by my little moments with the shows (I love Patrick Stewart...he can do no wrong in his acting) but this just...felt so refreshing.

Any good deals to be found on this? I currently have it pre-ordered at Amazon for $22.99, but I would like to think I can find something better.

Looking at that screenshot of the Enterprise at Saturn, I didn't realize how true to the original series the saucer design was. The scant few windows and not-so-much detail that was part of the '60s series design is brought forward here nicely.

Seconded. Also, does anyone know if there's a standard blu-ray case in there too? I'm hoping to use the Enterprise as a display item on a high shelf and don't want to have to keep bringing it down to watch the movie...

A leaked upcoming print ad for Walmart stores show that they will be selling it for only $19.96....depending on the rate of your state's sales tax (if you have one), and your own personal value of time/gas to go to one of their stores will determine whether or not it is worth it to go there instead of sticking with Amazon...

Wish Wal-mart would drop the price online so Amazon would price match it. I got Hangover and Terminator for like $16 right now.

Here's the Target-/BestBuy Canada-exclusive in the wild. Looks like this is overseas version, but I doubt it'll be any different...
