If I recall, when they were showing these on abcfamily a while back, they had little interviews during the commercial breaks and one did have Radcliffe talking about commentaries they did. I assume those will hopefully pop up on here - as well we all those extra scenes they have on the TV versions to stretch the runtime to 3 or 4 hours.

I've thought about buying the current BD's but I'm just going to hold off on buying anything more until the Uber-set comes out.

Some newer "3D" looks of the box.

Something tells me that these will be the same disc in a bigger (and supposedly better) box. I wish The Notebook hadn't only come in one of those big ass boxes as it takes up the space I need for a few other BDs.

Figured this was coming, but I'm not a big enough fan to rebuy them.

Digibook would be nice for these. But an oversized box with some crap inside? Pass.

I'm fine with having HD-DVD's of the first 5 films.

As others have said, there will probably be even more re-releases when the 6th and 7th film (both parts) drop on BD and DVD.

As far as I'm concerned, the thinner the case, the better (except for those eco cases, bleh). I already have the first two releases on Blu-ray and think they're great, so I'll pass on this.

The PQ/AQ has to be better for these two films in order for these releases to be worthwhile at all. Otherwise it is a total waste.

Yeah if no PQ upgrade I'll stick with my import of Philosopher's Stone. :)

International editions of the first movie have the alternate title Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The title was changed to Sorcerer's Stone in the US because the American book publisher and movie studio assume that Americans are too dumb to know what a philospher is. This is not a problem in any other country on the planet where the book has been published.

In addition to the title change, every instance where the characters mention the title object, alternate dialogue takes are used.

CHUD sayeth these be extended cuts.

Re: Warner's Double Dip continued...Harry Potter 1 and 2 "Ultimate" Editions

Odd how it says none of the Harry Potter movies were shot with longer cuts in mind. I remember reading years ago that's exactly what they did in order to release future cuts that included more of the smaller stories from the books. And wasn't there a lot more than 7 minutes on the TV version of the first movie?

Re: Warner's Double Dip continued...Harry Potter 1 and 2 "Ultimate" Editions

^ I'm sure too, all the deleted scenes that were stupidily hidden on the DVD were put back in the movie, including a subway scene that wasn't included on the DVD/bluray edition.

I'm just looking forward to the extended cut of 'Chamber of Secrets' as I found that version superior to the theatrical cut, and I know many fans did not like the second film [to each his own]

Harry Potter Ultimate Editions will be - drumroll please - box sets

The Digital Bits finally acquired some info on the new HP Ultimate Editions:

Warner is also releasing a pair of titles we've known about for a while now, but we finally have more details - new DVD and Blu-ray Ultimate Editions of the first two Harry Potter films, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (SRP $39.92 each on DVD and $49.99 on Blu-ray) Each will include both theatrical and "extended" versions of the films, 48-page photo books, new cast introductions, screen-test footage, all-new featurettes, Digital Copy versions and many (of not all) of the extras from the previous versions as well. You'll also get new In Movie Experiences and Maximum Movie Mode options on the Blu-ray versions featuring director Chris Columbus, complete with PIP video, photos and artwork. Here's a look at the Blu-ray & DVD box covers - note that these are large, oversized box sets, not standard cases...
Box sets :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: They better include keepcases or digibooks for the movies, but knowing WB...sigh :(

Talk about milking it.

My advice: Wait for the complete box set at this point.

^ I am. I'm done buying HP flicks on BD. I'll wait for the eventual uber-set and call it a day.

Re: Harry Potter Ultimate Editions will be - drumroll please - box sets

I had a feeling they'd be this way once I saw how thick the packaging looked on Amazon. Ugh. *shudders @ the thought of the TMNT Blu-ray Collection packaging*

But I almost never buy uber-sets because I don't like paying out such a huge lump sum all at once. So I may get these and HBP on Blu, even though I already own all the films so far on DVD. :/

I'm just buying the HPs as they come out. I doubt Warner will throw anything out there that will really compel me to upgrade. My double-dipping days are behind me-- with a few exceptions.

Yeah, I'm just going to get the final 2 (or 3) movies and call it good. SS and CoS certainly don't need extended cuts. PoA, on the other hand...

Here's a more in-depth look:

http://www.snitchseeker.com/harry-po...updated-68233/

A whopping 5 discs for Sorcerer's Stone and 4 discs for Chamber of Secrets. I can't tell from those pics where the discs go.

Edit: nevermind, those are the DVD sets. I guess the Blu-Rays will be fewer discs. The article does reveal that they will be doing ultimate editions for all of the HP films though.

I just bought the suitcase box set of movies 1-5 on Blu-Ray. I'm done until the complete series is put out.
